Biography
• Concept
Hana Ikeda's appearance was inspired by the iconic Disney princess, Pocahontas. This aesthetic choice was not random; the designer wanted to create a character that encapsulated beauty and sensuality in balance with strength and aggression. Hana Ikeda is therefore a reflection of a powerful and independent female figure, who attracts both with her striking presence and her combat skills. Hana's design also incorporates elements of Brigitte Lindholm, a character from "Overwatch". Brigitte is known for her robust physique and her clothes that combine practicality with a touch of modernity, reflecting her passion for motorcycles and mechanics. Hana embraces this duality in her look, wearing outfits that mix toughness and sensuality. Her clothes are functional for fighting, but also enhance her athletic figure and natural beauty. In addition to her design, Hana Ikeda has a deep passion for motorcycles and skills in automotive mechanics and robotics. This passion is evident in her backstory and is highlighted in several aspects of the game. She is not only a skilled fighter, but also a talented engineer who builds and customizes her own motorcycles. This characteristic adds an extra dimension to the character, making her multifaceted and more interesting to players. The goal in creating Hana was to create a fighter who would be both visually appealing and intimidating in combat. Her strength is not only physical, but also mental and emotional. Hana displays a controlled aggression that manifests itself in the heat of battle, contrasting with her serene and graceful appearance outside of combat. This balance between brute strength and elegance is one of the keys to her popularity among fans.
• Appearance
Hana is a figure of imposing presence and exotic beauty. Her dark skin contrasts perfectly with her lifeless reddish-brown eyes known as "Sanpaku eyes", which capture attention with an intense and mysterious glow. Her hair is black as night, straight and silky, falling in a long braid that extends to her waist, giving her an air of elegance and strength.
Her body is a work of art, combining sensuality with slightly defined muscles. Her breasts are full and her butt is prominent, highlighting her curves in a harmonious way, which is why she avoids very tight clothes in order to avoid attracting attention. Hana has thin lips that, together with her piercing and seemingly lifeless gaze and her piercing voice, exude an intimidating and at the same time irresistibly attractive aura.
In Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter V, Hana wears a red dungaree jumpsuit that highlights her figure, combined with a tight black tank top. She wears grayish black combat boots that complement her rugged look and wears black motorcycle gloves, which add a touch of rebelliousness to her style. Her large black Bo is a striking accessory that she carries with skill.
In Street Fighter VI, Hana adopts a more modern and aggressive look. She wears a black 3/4 leather jacket with a red collar, which adds a touch of sophistication to her look. Underneath the jacket, she wears a black top that highlights her muscles. Her jeans, ripped on the right thigh, and black combat boots reinforce her image of strength and determination. On her left hand, she wears a black half-finger glove, while on her right wrist she sports a black leather bracelet. A black leather choker adorns her neck, completing her look with a touch of boldness. Her hair, now short and slightly spiked,, resemble her brother Renji's hairstyle, adding an element of familiarity and continuity to her appearance.
• Personality
Hana is a young woman who, after being freed from Mr. Bison's control, shows a strong tendency towards rebellion. She does not like to follow rules imposed by others and prefers to chart her own path, even if it means facing constant danger. Her stubbornness is a striking characteristic; once she decides on something, it is difficult to make her change her mind. This rebellion is a way of asserting her identity and freedom, something that has been denied to her for many years.
The search for adrenaline is a constant in Hana's life. She participates in fighting tournaments not only to test her skills, but also for the pleasure of competition and risk. This passion for danger leads her to make impulsive decisions, often putting herself in risky situations. For Hana, adrenaline is a way of feeling alive and in control, in contrast to the years in which she was manipulated. Despite her tough exterior, Hana is extremely shy and reserved. The tragedy of losing her parents and being turned into an assassin has left deep scars, making her suspicious and reluctant to open up to others. She prefers solitude and avoids large crowds, feeling more comfortable when she is alone. Her shyness is a barrier she uses to protect herself from further emotional distress. Hana is not afraid to confront others and is known for her strong temper. She speaks her mind, even if her words may hurt. For her, there is no middle ground: if someone stands in her way, they are an adversary. This aggressive attitude is a form of protection, a way of keeping others at bay. Her aggression is also an expression of her inner rage, the result of years of abuse and control. Independence is one of Hana's strongest traits. She refuses help from her brother and prefers to live independently, traveling the world as a wandering biker. Her courage is evident in her actions, facing challenges and dangers without hesitation. Hana’s independence is a way of asserting her autonomy and proving to herself that she can survive and thrive without relying on anyone.
While Hana is difficult to get close to, those who do see a different side of her. To her brother, for example, she shows a kindness and affection that she rarely reveals. She admires him deeply, but her shyness and pride prevent her from showing it openly, preferring to argue or insult him as a way of hiding her true feelings. This hidden kindness is a reminder that, despite everything, Hana still has the capacity to love and care for others.
Hana’s relationship with her brother Renji is complex. She sees him as a hero and cares deeply for him, but her independent nature prevents her from accepting his help. Despite this, she maintains contact with him, showing that, despite her tough facade, she values the connection of family. Renji is one of the few people who knows the real Hana, and his presence provides a point of stability in her wandering life.
The traumas Hana has suffered have left deep scars on her psyche. The loss of her parents and her transformation into an assassin by Shadaloo are events that shaped her worldview. However, her liberation and search for a new life are testaments to her resilience. Hana is constantly battling her inner demons, trying to find a balance between her traumatic past and her desire for freedom and identity.
After years of being controlled, Hana is on a journey of self-discovery. She is trying to understand who she really is, beyond the identity imposed on her by Shadaloo. This search for identity is a crucial part of her personality, influencing her actions and decisions. Every fighting tournament, every motorcycle trip, is an attempt to reconnect with her true self and find purpose in her life.

Relationships
• Renji
Renji is Hana's older brother and the most important person in her life. Before Shadaloo's attack, they were inseparable, sharing a happy and adventurous childhood in Okinawa. The attack that resulted in the death of their parents and the kidnapping of Hana was a traumatic turning point for both of them. Renji dedicated years of his life to searching for Hana, facing unimaginable dangers and infiltrating criminal organizations to obtain information about her whereabouts. When he finally rescued her, Hana was deeply touched by her brother's sacrifice and determination, although her pride prevents her from fully expressing her gratitude. She sees him as a hero, a symbol of strength and resilience, and his presence is an emotional anchor for her. Renji, in turn, continues to be a protective figure, always concerned for Hana's well-being, even when she insists on following her own path.
• Cammy
AHana’s relationship with Cammy is complex and multifaceted. When she was still one of the Dolls, Hana was sent to eliminate Cammy, resulting in an intense fight that ended in a draw. This confrontation left a deep mark on both of them. Hana sees Cammy as a worthy rival, someone who challenges her abilities and motivates her to become stronger. However, Cammy sees her as a sister, a comrade who has endured similar horrors under Bison’s control. Cammy feels genuine relief when she learns that Hana has been saved by Renji and is free from mind control. This dynamic of rivalry and sisterhood creates an interesting tension between the two, where mutual respect and healthy competition coexist.
• Rose
Rose plays a crucial role in Hana’s recovery after her rescue. As an Italian fortune teller with psychic abilities, Rose was able to cure Hana of her brainwashing and provide a safe environment for her to recover. During their time together, Rose has become a motherly figure to Hana, offering guidance and emotional support. Hana, while grateful, felt suffocated by the overprotection and eventually ran away to seek her own independence. In Street Fighter V, the friendship and mutual respect between Hana and Rose are evident. Rose continues to be a mentor to Hana, helping her navigate the challenges of her new free life.
• Decapre
Hana's relationship with Decapre is marked by distrust and rivalry. After being saved by Renji, Hana faced Decapre in a tournament, where she managed to temporarily defeat her. Decapre, still under the control of Psycho Power, was sent to capture Hana, but failed in her mission. In Street Fighter V, the two join Cammy and Juri to fight the Dolls still controlled by Bison. The tension between Hana and Decapre is palpable, but there is also a mutual understanding of the hardships they have both faced. They share a history of manipulation and control, which creates a complex and ambiguous connection between the two.

History
• Background:
Hana grew up in rural Okinawa, a region known for its picturesque landscapes and rich culture. She lived with her parents and her older brother, Renji, in a small wooden house surrounded by rice fields and close to the sea. The family lived a simple life, supporting themselves by fishing and rice farming. Despite financial hardships, Hana enjoyed a happy and peaceful childhood, filled with moments of joy and learning... From an early age, Hana demonstrated a great talent for dancing. She would participate in children's performances at local festivals, enchanting the community with her grace and skill. Her beauty and talent caught the attention of the local governor, who, in an agreement with her father, promised her in marriage to his eldest son. Although this promise was an honor for the family, Hana was still too young to fully understand the significance of this arrangement.
Hana's life changed dramatically during a birthday party in Okinawa City. She was performing a traditional dance performance when Shadaloo helicopters and aircraft invaded the sunny sky, causing chaos and destruction. Shadaloo soldiers opened fire on the citizens, causing panic and death. Hana, frightened by the sight of her comrades and others being killed, tried to run to her brother, but was captured by one of the soldiers. Renji tried to rescue her, but was incapacitated by a blow to the head.
After being captured, Hana was taken to one of Shadaloo's bases, where she was subjected to intense brainwashing. The once talented and sweet child was transformed into a killing machine with no feelings or memories. For years, she served the organization, carrying out deadly missions with precision and coldness. Her life as a Doll was marked by blind obedience and a lack of emotion, a hollow and controlled existence.
On one of her missions, Hana was sent to assassinate Cammy, a former English soldier who had also been a Doll. The two fought intensely, resulting in a draw. Cammy, recognizing Hana's situation, tried to save her, but the Okinawan Doll chose to flee, still under the influence of Psycho Power. This confrontation left a deep mark on both of them, creating a complex rivalry and an involuntary connection.
In the events of Street Fighter IV, Hana was finally rescued by her brother Renji, with the help of Juri. Renji infiltrated the Shadaloo base and faced Hana, who was still under the influence of Psycho Power. During the fight, Renji fought on the defensive, trying to reach the real Hana. He began to sing a song he used to sing to her during thunderstorms, bringing back memories of his childhood. Slowly, Hana was freed from her brainwashing and passed out. Renji picked her up in his arms and carried her out of the base, escaping in his private jet.
After the rescue, Renji left Hana aloneb under the care of Rose, an Italian fortune teller with psychic abilities. Rose cured Hana of her brainwashing and accompanied her through her recovery process. Over the course of four months, Hana underwent an intense process of healing and self-discovery. Rose became a motherly figure to Hana, offering guidance and emotional support. However, Hana's independent nature led her to run away, leaving Rose worried and determined to find her.
Hana was reunited with her brother, Cammy, and Chun-Li during a tournament. This reunion marked a new chapter in her life, where she began to rebuild her relationships and search for a purpose beyond her life as a Doll. Hana continues to fight her inner demons, but now with the support of people who care about her.
• Street Fighter IV:
After regaining her memory and learning the truth about her childhood abduction, Hana is filled with rage. She flees Genoa, determined to exact revenge on the organization that turned her into a machine. With the training she received at Shadaloo, Hana remembers fragments of the place where she was brainwashed. Her search leads her to the world tournament sponsored by S.I.N, which she suspects has ties to Shadaloo.
As Hana infiltrates the tournament, she is closely followed by Decapre, a Doll clone of Cammy, secretly sent by Mr. Bison to capture her. Decapre, with his mask and sharp claws, watches Hana's every move, waiting for the right moment to strike. On a silent night, Decapre finally strikes, starting a fierce battle. Both fight with impressive skills, Hana using her Bojutsu against Decapre's quick and lethal techniques. The fight is intense and evenly matched, but Decapre retreats to avoid further damage, promising to return.
In the middle of the tournament, Hana is found by her brother, Renji. He questions her severely, concerned for her safety. Hana, provocatively, challenges Renji to a fight, since they are both in the tournament. The battle between the brothers is exciting, full of techniques and strategies. After the fight, Hana reveals that she has discovered the whole truth and is looking for Mr. Bison to kill him. Renji, although worried, offers his help along with Chun-Li, Guile and Cammy, forming an unlikely alliance.
During the tournament, Hana is approached by Rose, the Italian fortune teller. Rose, disappointed with Hana's escape, tries to convince her to abandon her quest for revenge. Hana, indifferent, claims that she wants revenge, but does not help. Rose, with her wisdom, advises Hana to be strong and not let darkness dominate her heart, reminding her that she has a brother who cares for her. Hana, touched by Rose's words, remembers everything her brother did to save her. She smiles and promises that nothing will control her anymore.
With her renewed determination, Hana advances in the tournament, facing formidable opponents and overcoming challenges. Each fight brings her closer to her ultimate goal: Mr. Bison. With the help of her allies, Hana finally confronts Bison in an epic battle. The fight is intense, full of twists and turns and moments of tension. Hana, using all her skills and painful memories as fuel, fights with unmatched ferocity. In the end, Hana manages to defeat Bison, but not without paying a high price. She realizes that revenge did not bring the peace she hoped for, but rather a new understanding of herself and her purpose. With the help of her friends and her brother, Hana begins to rebuild her life, free from the shadows of her past.
• Street Fighter V:

They embrace warmly, feeling the longing that has built up over their time apart. Sitting in a café, Hana shares her adventures and the challenges she faces in her new life. Renji, ever the protective brother, listens attentively, offering words of encouragement and support. He is proud of Hana's courage in following her own path. Before parting, Renji suggests a friendly sparring match, a tradition between the two since childhood. The sparring match is intense, full of technique and mutual respect. By the end, both are exhausted but happy. Renji presents Hana with a check for 15,000.00, insisting that she use the money to keep herself safe on her journey. Hana, moved, accepts the gift and bids Renji farewell with a tight hug. On her journey, Hana decides to visit Rose, the Italian fortune teller who has always shown interest in her well-being. Rose greets her with a warm smile, and the two have a deep conversation about Hana's decision to follow her own path. Rose, concerned about theHana's safety, alerts her to Mr. Bison's evil plans and the growing strength of Shadaloo. Hana appreciates the advice, but before leaving, she challenges Rose to a fight. The battle is a dance of skill and strategy, with both showing respect and admiration for each other.
In a corner bar, Hana is drinking alone when she is approached by Cammy White, an MI6 agent and her longtime rival. Initially, Hana is resistant to the contact, but Cammy insists, showing joy in seeing her and treating her like a little sister. Hana, sensing Cammy's sincerity, lets her guard down and the two begin to talk amicably. Cammy reveals Shadaloo's plans involving Decapre and invites Hana to help free her sisters. Hana: Around the World
After meeting her brother Renji again, Hana notices that he is different, with a haggard expression. Ever witty, she jokes that if he doesn't tell her what's going on, she'll "break him in half." Renji smiles, but quickly opens up about the pressure he feels, even with his stable career. He explains that stability has taken a toll, leaving him exhausted and drained of energy.
Hana, concerned for her brother's well-being, suggests that he take a break from the stage and screen and take a low-key trip to recharge his batteries. Renji, relieved by the idea, agrees and invites her to travel with him. Hana readily accepts, but on one condition: he will have to fight with her first.
Renji: Out of the Spotlight
After reaching the peak and stability of his dream career, Renji began to feel pressured. Proposals, contracts, crowds and constant invitations began to wear him down. Feeling the need for a break, Renji decided to step away for a while. He picked up his guitar and embarked on a journey around the world in search of self-connection, limiting himself to vlogging to still interact with his fans.
Hana, realizing her brother’s need to reconnect with himself, decided to accompany him on his journey. This trip would not only give Renji much-needed time to recover, but it would also allow the two to spend more time together as a family.
Together, Hana and Renji traveled to several countries, exploring new cultures and landscapes. Renji found inspiration in music and the simplicity of life on the road, while Hana continued to compete in fighting tournaments and take on new challenges. Renji’s vlogs became a hit, showing fans a more personal and authentic side of his life.
During the trip, Renji and Hana had many opportunities to reflect on their lives and the choices they made. Renji learned to balance his career with his mental health, finding new ways to deal with stress. Hana, in turn, found new inspiration and further strengthened her life’s purpose.
The trip was not just an escape, but an opportunity to strengthen family ties. REnji and Hana rediscovered the importance of mutual support and family bonds, becoming even closer.
Along their journey, the siblings met old friends and made new allies. They participated in tournaments, faced enemies, and discovered hidden secrets. Each experience prepared them for the challenges ahead, strengthening their bond and determination.
Cammy: Reconciliation
Hana and Cammy met again in a bustling city. Cammy, always concerned for Hana's well-being, questioned her choice to live as a drifter. "Why did you choose this life, Hana? You could have a normal life with your brother," Cammy said, with a tone of concern.
Hana, with her usual sarcasm, replied, "I don't want to be a nanny in tow." Cammy couldn't help but smile at Hana's witty response. Hana then challenged her to a fight, but this time, it would be a friendly fight, which surprised Cammy.
The fight between Hana and Cammy was intense and technical, but also marked by respect and camaraderie. Both fought with everything they had, but in the end, the fight ended in a draw. Both were exhausted, but satisfied with the result.
After the fight, Hana and Cammy spent time together, talking and laughing. They shared stories and memories, further strengthening their friendship. During the conversation, Hana lamented the fight she had with Decapre, expressing her sadness and regret.
When it was time to say goodbye, Hana looked at Cammy and, with a sincere smile, said: "You are like a sister to me." The words touched Cammy deeply, who was moved. They hugged each other warmly, promising to meet again in the future.

Fun Facts
• Hana Ikeda was visually inspired by the iconic Disney princess, Pocahontas. This inspiration is not limited to her physical characteristics, such as her long hair and dark skin, but also embodies an aura of courage and a strong connection with nature, reflecting the essence of the Disney character. The intention was to create a character that conveyed a free spirit and natural beauty, combined with unwavering strength.
• Hana has some notable similarities to characters from "King of Fighters". Her costume and fighting style are direct references to Billy Kane in "KoF 13". She wears a combination of traditional and modern clothing, similar to Billy's appearance, and wields a staff with impressive skill. Her "Rage Mode", which makes her more aggressive and powerful during fights, is a nod to Orochi Leona in "KoF 97", where Leona enters an uncontrolled state of rage that enhances her combat abilities.
• Hana is the third character in the "Street Fighter" universe to utilize Bojutsu as her primary martial art. Bojutsu is a traditional Japanese form of fighting that involves the use of a long staff, and Hana demonstrates a unique mastery of this art, combining fluid movements with precise and devastating attacks. This ability sets her apart from other fighters, adding an extra layer of strategy and spectacle to her fights.
• According to the game's producers, Hana Ikeda was conceived as an alternate version of Leona Heidern from "KoF". This idea extends not only to her appearance or abilities, but also to her backstory and personality. Like Leona, Hana has a past marked by trauma and inner conflict, which shaped her unwavering determination and discipline. This parallel with Leona is intended to appeal to fans of both franchises, creating a bridge between the game universes.
• There is a fan theory that suggests that Hana's "Rage Mode" is actually an alter ego, a manifestation of a dark and uncontrollable side of her personality. This theory is supported by small details in her backstory and certain dialogues in the game that hint at a constant internal struggle between control and rage.
• Some players have noted that there are elements of Japanese mythology in Hana's abilities and design. Her staff, for example, is reminiscent of weapons used by protective deities in Japanese mythology. This subtle connection adds a layer of mystique to the character, suggesting that Hana may have a supernatural or spiritual background.
