Compared to his older brother Terry, Andy is quieter and more stoic and deeply focused on self-improvement. This can make him seem distant from Mai even though she is openly enamored with him.
Beginning in Mai's DLC, he can be seen at the Pao Pao Cafe. The player character can also learn one of his moves, Zanei-ken, by completing a quest.

Street Fighter 6 is Andy's first Capcom appearance, even considering the SNK vs. Capcom series.
Unofficially, he appeared in a Street Fighter game as a hack character in Street Fighter II.
His appearance means that all three playable protagonists from Fatal Fury: King of Fighters, who are also the co-founders of Team Fatal Fury – Terry, Andy and Joe Higashi – make appearances in Street Fighter 6 as at least NPCs all teaching moves.
Before Mai's DLC, his gear and an emote of his were available in a Fighter Pass.
