Culture and Economy
Located in Japan, Aoharu City is home to many schools. Aoharu also suffers a conspiracy caused by the existence of the "Darkside Society Organization", which plans to conquer Japan by kidnapping and brainwashing students, and conflicts between different schools. The first conflict was started by Hyo (who brainwashed his uncle Raizo), and the second was caused by Kurow (Batsu's impersonator; and who also brainwashed Daigo.) Following Kurow's defeat, at the cost of Hyo's sacrifice (whose body was possessed by his father, Mugen), Aoharu is safe and finally in peace, thanks to the teamwork of both students and teachers from various different schools who fought to stop the conflict.
As of Street Fighter V, most of the students who were involved in previous incidents have graduated from their respective schools.
Stages
Drive-In Theater
Drive-In Theater[1] (ćć©ć¤ćć¤ć³ć·ć¢ćæć¼?), also written as Drive In Theater[2] is a stage from Rival Schools set in front of a drive-in theater with a large screen where many companies place their advertisements, showing different images. To the right of the screen is the theater's building, a restaurant, and two outdoor advertisements showing a hotdog and a drink. To the left is the entrance to Ziggy Park, with a Ferris wheel, a roller coast, and a cafe visible inside.
In the arcade version the theather's screen is promoting Street Fighter Zero 2: Sakura Ganbaru!, showing images of Ryu, Sakura, Dan, Shinseisha (written as ShinSeiSya), and Gamest. In the PlayStation version the screen is promoting Atsuki KodÅ, showing its cover and Suleputer's logo. In Nekketsu Seisyun Nikki 2 the screen promotes Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike and Dino Crisis.
The Drive-In Theater and Ziggy Park are located near Pacific High School, and they are targets of superstitions among its students. It is said that couples who go to the Drive-In Theater will always break up for some reason, some claiming that the face of the Saikyo Style user that sometimes appears on its screen is cursed. On the other hand, Ziggy Park is always full with Pacific High students on Saturdays and is rumored to be a legendary lucky spot, being said that someone who confesses to their crush at the park will always succeed and certainly remain as a couple until graduation.[3]
Konjou Shrine
Konjou Shrine (ę ¹ę§ē„社?) is a shrine.
Ziggy Amusement Park
Ziggy Amusement Park, known as Ziggy Park (ćøć®ć¼ćć¼ćÆ?) in Japan, is set in an open area from an amusement park, with a clock, benches, lamps, telephone booths, and two panda cars. From the starting point, there are stairs on the front, a food shop to the right, a norimono swing ride to the left, and a pirate ship on the back. A Ferris wheel is visible behind the norimono ride.
Aoharu Station Square
Aoharu Station Square (éę„é§ ååŗå “?) is set in front of a station.
Trivia
- The name "Aoharu City" is only seen on the map from the story mode character select menu in the English version of Project Justice. As the corner of the map is not visible in the original Japanese version due to the presence of a window that displays the controls used to navigate the menu and the name "Aoharu City" is not referenced anywhere else, its name is unknown in Japan.
- The name "Aoharu City" comes from the Japanese word ćéę„ć, meaning "youth". The word can be read as either seishun or aoharu, with both being used in the series for Nekketsu Seisyun Nikki and Aoharu Station Square.
- It is possible the series is meant to take place in Osaka, the birthplace of series creator Hideaki Itsuno, as the city is shown to be located on the coast, and one of the stages in Rival Schools: United by Fate is set on the bank of the real-world Yamato River, which connects to the ocean through Osaka Bay.
- The first two Kanji of the name of the area where Gedo High School is located is spelled identically to Abashiri, a city in Japan that is known for being the site of the Abashiri Prison.
