"Right there!"
—Cody

The Axel Knuckle is one of Cody's unique attacks, introduced in Street Fighter V.

Input
Street Fighter V Arcade-Stick-Right+Arcade-Button-HPunch

Description[]

Executed by pressing forward and Heavy Punch, Cody cups his hands together, reels back, and slams his fists on the opponent. If no directional input or button is pressed after the throw, Cody pumps both of his arms before dropping back in his stance.

Tactics[]

AxelKnuckle

As an overhead attack, the main purpose is to break through the defenses of an opponent who insists on crouch guarding (as the attack must be blocked from a standing position). The draw back causes considerable delay, and this attack can easily be countered by an aggressive opponent by hitting her beforehand. It is also -7 on block. Even if properly spaced, Cody can still be punished. While Axel Knuckle inflicts a decent amount of damage and stun, this move is used as a surprise attack to win the round after conditioning the opponent to constantly crouch block.

However, this attack's properties changes when his second V-Trigger is active. Because he's equipped with a pipe, Axel Knuckle inflicts slightly more damage and stun. Additionally, the range is also increased. If blocked at max range, Cody can still be safe. However, any usage of his overhead during his second V-Trigger consumes about 1/10 of V-Gauge.
