Description[]
Executed by pressing down twice, followed by any punch button (or any attack button for Modern Control), Blanka reaches behind his back and pulls out a Blanka-chan doll before tossing it on the ground. The strength of the punch button determines where Blanka plants the doll. Pressing Light Punch has Blanka tossing the doll at 1/4 of the screen. The Medium version sets the doll around midscreen. Pressing Heavy Punch has Blanka throwing the doll around 3/4 of the screen.
Tactics[]
This move is Blanka's main setup tool. While it has a 39-frame startup, it amplifies Blanka's pressure and mix-up game as long as the doll remains on the stage. The threat of the doll being on the screen can force the opponent to second guess their approach and play more passively. When combined with Electric Thunder, a Lightning Beast powered-up roll attack, or his Level 1 Super Art, the doll is infused with electricity and makes its approach toward the opponent.
A meterless electrical attack makes the doll walk toward the opponent. If it hits the opponent, it inflicts decent damage and results in a knockdown. It can also be used during juggle combos in the corner. An OD electrical attack makes the doll bounce a few times before dashing toward the opponent. It has better juggle properties, allowing for better combo opportunities and damage output. When paired with his Level 1 Super, the doll instead flies toward the opponent, making it a powerful five hit launching projectile to keep the opponent on their heels; it can potentially be used as a makeshift safe invincible reversal thanks to the doll's blockstun, albeit one with considerable setup.
While powerful, Blanka only has three Blanka-chan bombs at the start of every round. The only way to replenish a bomb is via his back taunt, however the 188 frame startup makes it virtually impossible to use in a practical setting.
