Description

- "Rush forward with a thrusting punch cloaked with energy. Useful as a surprise attack to close the distance between you and your opponent."
- —Street Fighter 6
Executed by performing a quarter-circle back and pressing Medium or Heavy Punch, Terry strikes with a punch covered in blue flames. The Light version, known as Quick Burn, sees Terry strike with a burning hook followed by an overhead haymaker. The Medium and Heavy version are the traditional Burning Knuckle, a forward lunging punch that travels across the screen, with Terry spreading his arms outward before lunging for the Heavy version. Finally, the OD version travels a longer distance and deals more damage.
Tactics
Burning Knuckle's long travel distance is not only its strength, but its weakness as well. When performed at close range during its early active frames, it is punishable on block and leaves Terry within range. At further ranges, mid-screen for the Medium version and full-screen for the Heavy version, Burning Knuckle is instead advantageous on block, indicated by a stronger screen shake, letting Terry continue his offense afterward. The OD version causes a tumble state on Punish Counter, making Terry a threat from a deceptively long range. However, Burning Knuckle's startup animation also make it vulnerable if done predictably, especially against invincible moves, counters, and Perfect Parry.
Because of these, Burn Knuckle is best used as part of a combo and juggles, as seen in his home series. Depending on his distance if blocked, Terry has a chance to escape retaliation from a blocked Burn Knuckle and can even bait the enemy for a combo at close range.
