Carlos Miyamoto (カルロス宮本 Karurosu Miyamoto?) is a main character in the Final Fight series. He first appeared in Final Fight 2 as one of the three playable characters, the other two being Maki (who also made her debut in said game) and returning Final Fight character Mike Haggar.
Biography[]
Appearance[]
Carlos has long brown hair, blue vest, pants, black armbands and boots. By Street Fighter 6, his brown hair has turned black, being grown long and over his shoulders. He wears sunglasses, a blue leather jacket suit with a red tie and black button shirt underneath, and has red and black fingerless gloves alongside two brown leather belts on his jeans. He also has a leather clipped holder for his katana, which wraps around the front of his suit over his shoulder. He also holds the blade within the holder.
Personality[]
Carlos is brave in nature and has a strong sense of justice, using his katana to strike down evil and believing that Metro City is an area worth protecting. However, he also has a laid-back personality in that he goes to watch wrestling tournaments and wants the Avatar to offer him chili, his favorite food, in his free time. He is also known to be quite knowledgeable about swords and other blades, going into detail about their histories in Street Fighter 6's World Tour Mode.

Mike Haggar[]
An old friend who he met after a wrestling tournament in Mexico.[3] Owing a past debt to both Haggar and Guy, Carlos works alongside with him and Maki from within their battle against the Mad Gear Gang in Final Fight 2. After the events of Final Fight 2, he was inspired by Mike Haggar and continued to fight crime.[4]
Story[]
Carlos grew up in Mexico studying different types of martial arts. He met Mike Haggar at a wrestling tournament where the two of them became fast friends. Shortly after this he moved to Metro City to finish his studies and lived with Mike Haggar for a period of time. Although Carlos had mastered many styles of fighting, he prefers to use his katana to slice and dice his enemies.
Final Fight 2[]
Owing a past debt to both Haggar and Guy, Carlos works alongside with him and Maki to rescue her father and sister.
Post-Final Fight 2[]
After the events from Final Fight 2, Carlos freeloads in Haggar's mansion and contributes to improve Metro City's security.[1]
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition[]
Carlos can be seen in Lucia's Street Fighter V route arcade ending. For some reason, he appears to like Lucia's bad cooking, as shown that he finishes four plates of her failed curry rice, something which Haggar and Cody are unable to do so.
Street Fighter 6[]
Carlos makes a cameo on The Macho Ring stage.
Carlos can also be found in World Tour mode as an opponent in Metro City, using his own unique moveset including Ougi! Midaregiri (秘技！乱れ斬り Ōgi! Midaregiri?, lit. "Secret Technique! Chaotic Slash), his Extra Joy from Final Fight 2, and some of Guile's normal attacks.
He's tied to the They Call Him Carlos Miyamoto Side-Mission where, after battling him once, the player assists him in an investigation on a set of thugs. At the end of the Side-Mission, the player has a rematch where he is at a higher level and thus a lot stronger.
He appears again in the Suval'hal Arena Throwdown Side-Mission, albeit masked and under the alias of Metro Protector, but he does reveal it is truly him after being beaten.

Carlos had an non-speaking cameo in the Street Fighter 1995 cartoon along with Maki, cheering in the stands.
Capcom Fighting Evolution[]
Carlos appears in Alex's ending for Capcom Fighting Evolution, where he is seen with Jessica rooting for Mike Haggar to win a match against Alex.
Trivia[]
- His last name is an homage to the famous Japanese swordsman Musashi Miyamoto from the 16th and 17th century.
- In Street Fighter 6, Carlos, along with Bosch, Damnd and Rudra, are the only World Tour mode NPCs to have their own theme.
