Description

ChouHissatsuShinobiBachi
"Rush forward in a ball of fire with a devastating elbow strike. A versatile move that can get around projectiles, be used in combos, and serve as a potent counterattack."
Street Fighter 6

Executed by performing two quarter-circle forward motions and pressing kick, Mai first performs a backflip and winds up her attack. Finally, she performs a cartwheel toward the opponent, hitting them with a knee strike and a downward kick. Mai then leaps toward the opponent, striking the opponent with a multi-hit flaming elbow lunge. The air version has Mai performing the lunging, flaming elbow without the cartwheel. This attack hits the opponent five times. At the cost of one Flame Stock to perform this move, Mai leaps into the air and performs a somersault. Finally, she leaps toward the opponent and delivers a multi-hitting flaming elbow lunge; hitting the opponent twelve times.

Tactics

ChouHissatsuShinobiBachiFlame
"Chou Hissatsu Shinobi Bachi performed while airborne. Easy to use as part of a combo from special moves."
Street Fighter 6

Chou Hissatsu Shinobi Bachi not only inflicts heavy damage, but it also drives the opponent into the corner. Upon performing the move, Mai is fully invincible at the startup of the move. She is then immune to projectile attacks while delivering the elbow strikes. Because it is a Level 2 Super Art, Mai can cancel this move from her normals or link from her special attacks such as Heavy Ryuuenbu. It also can be cancelled from her OD specials like Hissatsu Shinobi Bachi or Musasabi no Mai.

Activating her Level 1 Super Art gives Mai five Flame stocks that amplifies her special moves and Super Arts. Chou Hissatsu Shinobi Bachi is one of the moves affected by this power-up. At the cost of one Flame stock, Mai receives a slight damage boost and better corner carry to this attack..

Trivia

  • Mai started calling out this technique as she performs it in KOF 97. She now calls out her special move names from that game on.
