Description[]
Executed by pressing forward and Heavy Punch, Ed advances forward with a lunging punch with his rear hand.
Tactics[]
While this move has a 17-frame startup, it has Ed leaping toward the opponent before delivering the attack. Cobra Punch can be used against the opponent's low attack, jumping over the hitbox and punish them during their recovery. If Ed scores a Punish Counter with this move, he can link into Standing Light Punch to continue the combo. When used during a Drive Rush, Ed can link into Standing Medium Punch for more damage. Cobra Punch is also -3 on block, making it difficult for the opponent to punish if properly spaced. Cobra Punch can also be used during juggle combos with his Level 2 Super Art.
Trivia[]
- This attack bears similarities to Terry Bogard's Power Dunk in the King of Fighters series, and Sol Badguy's Bandit Bringer in the Guilty Gear series, both being more exaggerated jumping overhead punches.
