The Cryo Drop Elbow is one of Gill's unique attacks, introduced in Street Fighter V.

Executed by pressing forward and Heavy Punch, Gill rotates his body and puts his hands together. As he takes a step forward, an icicle forms on his left elbow. Gill then delivers a downward elbow strike, attacking his opponent with the icicle on his elbow.

Tactics Edit

As an overhead attack, the main purpose is to break through the defenses of an opponent who insists on crouch guarding (as the attack must be blocked from a standing position). The draw back causes considerable delay, and this attack can easily be countered by an aggressive opponent by hitting her beforehand. Similar to most overheads, this attack is unsafe on block. Not only this move is -8 on block, but it also moves Gill toward his opponent, making it easier for them to punish him for a combo. However, Cryo Drop Elbow inflicts slightly more damage than other characters' overheads.

Scoring a Counter Hit with this move puts Gill at +3, allowing him to follow-up with his Crouching Light Punch for some good damage. Additionally, this is one of his Anti-Type-Support attacks. If Gill hits his opponent with Cryo Drop Elbow while they are in a fiery state, then the properties of this move are changed, triggering a Retribution hit. Not only does this attack gets a slight damage buff, but it also results in a hard knockdown on hit. This gives Gill good okizeme that many character rarely receive from an overhead.
