Description

Ryu activating Denjin Charge.
Street Fighter V
When activated, Denjin Renki "electrifies" Ryu's Shoryuken and gives him access to an enhanced version of Hadoken called the Raiko Hadoken (雷光波動拳 Raikō Hadōken?, "Lightning Surge Fist"). Compared to the standard version, the Raiko Hadoken has greater damage and stun, and is also charge-able; when fully charged, it will gain guard crushing properties, and leave a blocking opponent defenseless for several seconds. The Shoryuken gains increased damage and stun, and the medium version gains slightly more invincibility as well.[2] The Shinku Hadoken becomes a Denjin Hadoken, increasing the damage and lowering the startup time, but this will deplete the V-Gauge and Critical Art Gauge entirely.
Ryu also has his punches enhanced, dealing extra stun while also having an extra two frames of advantage on hit. While in Denjin Renki, Ryu can link multiple punches together, creating brand-new combos off stray conversions.

- "Envelop your fists with the Power of Nothingness, enhancing moves such as the Hadoken and Hashogeki. Leave you wide open, making the timing of its usage critical."
- —Street Fighter 6
Executed by pressing down twice and pressing punch (or any attack button for Modern Control), Ryu's body is enveloped with energy and electricity, thus enhancing his next ki moves.
As a Special Attack, Denjin Charge functions similar to various V-Skills like Angry Charge or Sumo Spirit, enhancing Ryu's next Fierce or OD Hado-based attack. Ryu gains access to the Raiko Hadoken, which has an extra hit along with better juggle potential, while Hashogeki sends the opponent into a juggle state, or a crumple state from an OD Hashogeki. Additionally, the Shinku Hadoken and Shin Hashogeki deal more damage while Denjin Charge is active.
Tactics

Ryu activating the Denjin Renki in Street Fighter V.
Street Fighter 6
Denjin Charge has a 39-frame startup, making it mildly risky to use in the neutral. If Ryu scores a knockdown with a Shoryuken or High Blade Kick, he can sacrifice okizeme to perform this move safely before his opponent can recover. Alternatively, Ryu can perform it directly after Fuwa Triple Strike or High Double Strike while still being advantageous. However, Ryu can only store one Denjin Charge at a time. It also does not carry in between rounds.
The Raiko Hadoken gets an extra hit, more damage, a massive speed boost, and extra juggle potential for further combos, while also being safe on block. Enhanced Hashogeki is plus on block while being massively rewarding on hit, launching opponents in a spinning state meterless while the OD version causes a crumple. Only the Heavy and Overdrive versions of Hadoken and Hashogeki are amplified, allowing Ryu to surprise the opponent by using the Light and Medium versions while saving his enhanced versions for combos or breaking through other projectiles.
Enhanced Shinku Hadoken and Shin Hashogeki both gain an additional 400 damage. However, both Raiko Hadoken and enhanced Hashogeki lead to routes for both Super Arts, making it better in certain scenarios to spend the charge earlier.
