Description[]
- "An uppercut with a wide swing followed by a second punch that slams an opponent to the ground. Useful when used out of normal or unique attacks to create combos."
- —Street Fighter 6
Executed by performing a quarter-circle back motion and pressing punch, Marisa swings her rear arm up for an uppercut. By pressing forward and punch after the uppercut, Marisa swings her punching arm downward in a hammering motion, bashing her fist on the ground.
Tactics[]
Dimachaerus is Marisa's primary anti-air move. With its high hitbox, it can intercept shallow jump-in attempts and potential cross-up attacks. The strength of the punch button pressed determines the move's startup, damage output, and range. The Light version has the fastest startup and the furthest range, but it inflicts the least amount of damage. The Medium version inflicts slightly more damage, but has a longer startup and doesn't travel as far. Both the Light and Medium Dimachaerus follow-up results in a knockdown, making it useful as a way to end combos.
The Heavy Dimachaerus has a 22-frame startup and the shortest range, due to Marisa remaining stationary during the beginning of the attack. However, it deals the most damage and can be cancelled from most of her Heavy normarls; including charged ones. The OD version has the same startup as the Medium version and inflicts similar damage to the Light version. It also breaks armor upon impact. Marisa can not only end combos with Dimachaerus, but she can also extend them with the Heavy and OD version since it causes the opponent to bounce on the ground. This allows her to perform a Drive Rush and continue the combo, optimizing both damage and corner carry. However, each version is unsafe on block.
Trivia[]
- "Dimachaerus" (from the greek διμάχαιρος) literally means "that brings two swords", and it refers to a type of Roman gladiator (plural dimachaeri) that fought only with this equipment - hence the use of two punches in this attack.
