Divebomb

The Divebomb is one of R. Mika's unique attacks, introduced in Street Fighter V.

Input
Street Fighter V Arcade Modifier AirArcade-Stick-Down+Arcade-Button-MPunch
(During forward jump)

Description[]

Executed by pressing down and Medium Punch during a forward jump, R. Mika spreads her arms and legs out wide and drops vertically downward, landing stomach-first on top of the opponent.

Tactics[]

The move can be very tricky and effective if used correctly. It can be used only from the top of jump to about 75% of the way through the rest of the jump. This means it can't be used while ascending. It also cannot be used if R. Mika is too low to the ground.

However, the Divebomb does have its uses. This move is primarily used to cross opponents up. If R. Mika is able to knock down the opponent, she can follow up with a sudden jump while close to them. This can put the opponent in a left/right block situation. Additionally, if the opponent guesses incorrectly, R. Mika can inflict a ton of damage.

It can be used to bait characters with Uppercuts, such as Shoryuken or Cammy's Cannon Spike. By jumping forward and performing Divebomb just outside their uppercut range, R. Mika can quickly recover and retaliate with one of her Crush Counter moves, resulting in big damage and potential mix-ups.

Trivia[]

  • This move is arguably based on a popular professional wrestling move called the Splash. It is sometimes referred as a body press.
  • This attack could be considered R. Mika's version of Zangief's Flying Body Press.
