Description[]
- "A throw that sends a clone to grapple with the opponent and explode with Psycho Power. The amount of time it takes for the grab to execute depends on the distance from your opponent."
- —Street Fighter 6
Executed by performing a quarter-circle back motion and pressing kick (or pressing back and Special Attack for Modern Control), JP summons a phantom made of Psycho Power and sends it to the opponent. If the phantom is in range, it grabs the opponent by the neck and holds them high in the air while gathering large amounts of negative energy. Before long, the phantom discharges the Psycho Power, exploding in front of the opponent and sending them crashing to the ground.
Tactics[]
Embrace visually resembles Torbalan, making it useful to catch opponents that are conditioned to block or dash through the latter. This move cannot be blocked, meaning that the opponent has to jump over or away from the ghost to avoid being thrown. Additionally, special moves that allows the opponent can go through projectiles can also be intercepted by the command grab. However, much like other command grabs, JP is extremely vulnerable if it is jumped over at 44 frames of recovery. It also cannot be used while Departure or his Level 2 Super Art is active.
The OD version of Embrace can absorb a single projectile hit, making it a powerful anti-fireball tool that does not force a trade compared to Triglav.
