Fei Long(フェイロン) is a character from Capcom's Street Fighter series of fighting games.

Fei Long has been confirmed to be a playable home console exclusive character in Street Fighter IV

Character Basis

Fei Long is a tribute to the Kung Fu movie legend Bruce Lee. Not only do the two look alike and come from the same city, Fei Long also lets out similar battle cries to Lee, and is just as furious and fast a fighter. Also, feilong is Chinese (specifically Cantonese, Hong Kong's primary dialect) for "flying dragon", as well as a type of kick; Bruce Lee's Chinese screen name was 李 小龍 (Lee Siu-Long) or "little dragon." He was one of the first Bruce Lee look-alike characters in fighting games, leading to characters such as Marshall Law and his son Forrest Law from the Tekken series, Li Long and Maxi from the Soul series, and Jann Lee from Dead or Alive series.

Story

A youthful and talented action movie star, Fei Long is the master of Hitenryu Kung Fu. While he fought on the streets to sharpen his skills, he caught the eye of a movie director, who got him into the big times and made him an international sensation. He also attracted the attention of the criminal organization Shadaloo, which tried to recruit him by force.

He made a string of action movies until he participated in the second World Warrior tournament. He realized that he preferred the real thing to the staged, choreographed fight scenes in his movies, and gave up his career and disappeared into the streets.

Techniques

Fei-Long has two special techniques in his debut appearance in Super Street Fighter II. The Rekkaken (烈火拳? "Blazing Flame Fist") is a series of rushing punch towards the opponent with punch. When the player inputs the Rekkaken command while Fei-Long is already performing the technique, he will follow it with another Rekkaken. He can perform up to three in a row. The Shienkyaku (熾炎脚? "Flame Igniting Kick"), his other special technique in Super, is a jumping flame kick. This technique is also referred as the Rising Dragon Kick, due to its similarity with Ryu and Ken's Shoryuken (Rising Dragon Punch) and its even performed with a similar command. He gains an additional special technique and his first Super Combo in Super Street Fighter II Turbo. The Rekkukyaku (裂空脚? "Air Tearing Kick) is a technique in which Fei-Long jumps towards the opponent with a spread kick. His Super Combo is the Rekkashinken (烈火真拳? "Grand Blazing Flame Fist"), a more powerful version of the Rekkaken.

In Street Fighter Alpha 3, he has all of his techniques from Super Turbo and two new Super Combos in A-ism mode. The Shienrenkyaku (熾炎連脚? "Flame Ignited Linked Kick") is a more poweful version of the Shienkyaku. The Ryuhassai (龍八砕? "Eight Dragon Smash") is a Lv.3-only Super Combo in which he punches an opponent and then uppercuts them into the air, followed by a jump kick. If the move connects at maximum distance, then it becomes the Ryu Shin Hassai and does much more damage.
