Avalanche Lock

The Avalanche Lock is one of Kolin's throws introduced in Street Fighter V.

Description

Kolin scissoring Cammy's arm with her legs using Avalanche Lock.

Executed by pressing Light Punch and Light Kick, (the throw command) while Kolin and her opponent are near each other in the air. After grabbing her opponent by the wrist in midair, she scissors her legs around their arm as the two drop to the ground. Both Kolin and her opponent land on their backs, while the former pulls the latter's arm toward her, hyperextending their shoulder and elbow.

Tactics

Kolin's air throw serves as a decent anti-air attack. It is good for stuffing out close jump ins, resulting in a knockdown. Avalanche Lock also inflicts the same amount of damage as Kolin's ground throws. However, it does slightly more stun than her back throw This move also gives Kolin good okizeme. If her opponent quick rises after the air throw, she can follow-up with Standing Hard Punch to fish for Crush Counter hits. Avalanche Lock is also used to end combos after Kolin hits her opponent with EX Parabellum.

Trivia

• The ending sequence armbar is visually similar to how WWE wrestler Asuka executes her finisher own armbar finisher.
