Kaze no Kobushi (風の拳 Kaze no Kobushi?, "Fist of the Wind"), and its perfected version the Kaze no Kobushi・Fumetsu (風の拳・不滅 Kaze no Kobushi・Fumetsu?, "Fist of the Wind: Indestructible") is a technique first utilized by Ryu in the Street Fighter III: Ryu Final manga by Masahiko Nakahira. The move has been incorporated in several video games.

Description[]

Ryu assumes a stance, collects a large amount of ki energy, and releases it in a single blow at the same moment his opponent attacks. The move likely draws inspiration from Masutatsu Ōyama, who believes the ideal way of winning a fight is to defeat his opponent with one attack (Ichigeki, 一撃). Both Kaze no Kobushi and Ryo Sakazaki's Tenchi Haoh Ken bears a resemblance as they both draw inspiration from the same martial artist, with Ryu even saying ichigeki hissatsu (一撃必殺) during the attack in the climax of Ryu Final, and the two performing their moves in official artwork from SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters DS.
