Description[]

DivineRetribution

Executed by pressing forward and Medium Kick, Menat performs a front handspring step out while her orb floats above her. As she brings one leg forward, Menat places her foot on the orb, swinging her leg downward toward her opponent. On the second step over with her other leg, Menat catches the bouncing orb with her heel. She kicks the orb back to herself, returning to a standing position after the attack.

Tactics[]

As an overhead attack, the main purpose is to break through the defenses of an opponent who insists on crouch guarding (as the attack must be blocked from a standing position). The draw back causes considerable delay, and this attack can easily be countered by an aggressive opponent by hitting her beforehand.

This overhead hits her opponent twice and punishes them if they are crouching. By pressuring the opponent with low, quick attacks to get them on their heels, Menat can use her overhead to get through their defenses. Like most overheads, Divine Retribution is unsafe on block. However, Menat can cancel the first hit of her overhead into her special attacks, such as Soul Sphere: Ankh or activating her V-Trigger. This not only makes this move safe, but is also a good way to extend combos, especially when Wisdom of Thoth is active.
