Description[]

KageTatsu

Executed by performing a quarter-circle backward motion and pressing kick, Kage jumps and rotates his leg while in midair, kicking the opponent once to pop them in the air. This move shares a few similar properties of Ryu and Ken's Tatsumaki Senpukyaku, allowing him to go through projectiles and landing close to his opponent after knocking them down.

Tactics[]

While on the ground, this move is mainly used to extend combos. It can be linked from most of Kage's normals. While the damage and stun inflicted are the same regardless of which kick button is pressed, it launches the opponent into the air, allowing Kage to end the combo with Shoryuken. The Light version has the fastest startup, but the Heavy version launches the opponent slightly higher in the air for more combo and damage potential.

The midair Kurekijin is one of Kage's main cross-up tools. He can bait his opponent to tech his throw attacks before surprising them with an Airborne Kurekijin to end the round. The EX version causes a wall bounce on hit, allowing Kage to extend combos and inflicts more damage. The Airborne Kurekijin can be tricky to anticipate, especially when combined with his Ashura Senku while his first V-Trigger is active. However, despite the mix-up potential, it is unsafe on block.
