Ibuki kicking Ling Xiaoyu with Reverse Spin Kick in Street Fighter X Tekken.

Street Fighter IV[]

This attack is Ibuki's longest range normal. It is not special cancel able and it's only use is to link to Target Combo 7. Unfortunately even then the target combo is not an actual combo and can be interrupted even if Reverse Spin Kick hits with a counter hit. This command normal can be compared to Rufus's Medium Kick except it is one frame slower and has a little less range.

Street Fighter X Tekken[]

In Street Fighter X Tekken this attack is a little more useful. Due to the way unique attacks work the Reverse Spin Kick can juggle aerial opponents and the aerial juggles do combo in her Target Combo 7 allowing her to use this as an anti backdash option select. It can also be used for juggles off some attacks that require "catch up" such as Poison's Kissed By A Goddess. Unfortunately due to it's unique attack status, it can not be used in any conjunction with the Cross Rush mechanic.

Trivia[]

  • This attack contradicts a portion of her "fighting style" section of the 30th anniversary bibliography that states "due to her size she has less range than most other combatants" for her SF3 appearances. While it is true she is the second smallest character who can not change her size (just above Makoto), this attack can out-range attacks of taller characters, even Hugo.
    • While this attack did get a nerf in terms of range in the SFIV series, it still has a good amount of horizontal reach.
  • Reverse Spin Kick and Tsumuji share the same animation with Tsumuji adding a slash effect.
