Freddie has large muscles and a beard and chest hair that look similar to Zangief's. He wears a camouflage bandana (light green in promotional artwork) and matching pants held up with suspenders, as well as combat boots and green wristbands.
Freddie's Street Fighter V profile artwork retains a relatively similar design, although he now wears dark green gloves and a matching bandana.
Freddie was once a member of the United States Marine Corps, and opposed a corrupt officer who wanted to use the troops for his own personal gain. During a training operation, he accidentally killed the officer with a fake gun, causing a brawl to ensue which led to his discharge. After leaving the Marines, he took several of his men with him and formed a wandering mercenary unit, taking part in various conflicts around the world.
Freddie was hired by Retu to lead the second incarnation of the Mad Gear Gang's terrorism unit, operating out of France. He and his men attacked Haggar, Maki, and Carlos when they came to the country in search of Genryusai and Rena, but were defeated.
Gameplay and fighting style
Freddie uses many of the same moves that Andore does. He has a charging attack, a head crush, a rising knee attack, a piledriver, and a jumping attack that he does after knocking an enemy down. His moves do lots of damage, but most of them are easy to counter.
- Guile (or a man with the same hairstyle) can be seen cheering Freddie in the background.
- The sound Freddie makes when defeated was changed in the international version of the game.
- Freddie design may have been based on pro wrestler Jeep Swenson.
