G Burst is one of G's special attacks, introduced in Street Fighter V.

Input
Street Fighter V Arcade Stick QCF+Arcade Button Punch

Description[]

Executed by performing a quarter-circle forward motion and pressing punch, G creates a meteor and punches it to send the projectile flying at a downward angle toward his opponent. The meteor disappears upon hitting the opponent or making contact with the ground.

GBurst

The EX version of this move is essentially the same as the Level 3 Presidentiality. He creates a slightly larger meteor and punches it to send it at a downward angle toward his opponent's feet. The projectile also travels through the opponent on hit and on block. When the meteor hits the ground, it explodes and creates a splash of magma that spatters upward toward his opponent. If no directional input or button is pressed, G points to the sky before dropping back in his stance.

Tactics[]

This move is one of G's zoning attacks. While he excels in dealing massive damage with his special moves and combos, he has a useful tool against other zoning characters. Unlike other fireballs, this attack does not travel fullscreen. However, he can use G Burst to keep his opponent at a distance.

The strength of the punch button pressed determines the move's startup and frame advantage. The Light version has the fastest startup, but is the least safe on block. The Heavy version has the slowest startup, but is slightly safer at -4 on block. This makes it more difficult for his opponent to punish. Regardless of which punch button is pressed, the damage output and the trajectory of this move remains the same.

Increasing his Presidentiality level gives G Burst more damage and better properties overall. It also makes this move less negative on block. On hit, the Heavy Version is +4, giving it some combo potential when in the corner. While in Level 3 Presidentiality, G can also cancel some of his unsafe special moves into an EX G Burst to keep him safe on block.

Level Description
Lv.1 Default with no follow-up
Lv.2 Hits the opponent twice and has more pushback
Lv.3 Meteor causes a knockdown on hit. The splash gives the move additional range, pushback, and frame advantage.

G can also cancel this move into Message To The People to build meter or G Charge to increase the level of his Presidentiality. He can also cancel into his Critical Art, unless the projectile whiffs the opponent.

Though Level 3 G Burst does more damage and starts up faster than Level 2, it also has a much longer recovery. At Level 3, G can mix up both versions to keep the opponent guessing as to whether or not it's safe for them to punish his fireball.
