Description
Executed by performing a 360° motion and pressing all three punches, Darun holds the opponent in place before delivering a powerful headbutt, disorientating and bewildering the opponent.
During this move, input indicators appear for both the player of Darun and the opponent, and unlike most Meteor Combos, the background turns into a darkened storm, with lightning violently crashing in the distance. During this, the player must input an 360° motion, and choose either punch or kick, regardless of strength, to execute to continue a follow up attack. For the opponent, they must try to match either punch or kick regardless of strength, to match the player/executor, to try to escape. If the player is successful, the G.O.D. will continue on, executing a throw by Darun. If the player escapes, the G.O.D. will end and they will slip out of the attack. If the player is successful in overcoming the attack's timing, the opponent's own wagers, and succeeding in executing all inputs, the G.O.D. is a one hit kill attack.
If a 360° motion is preformed alongside punch or kick after the headbutt, Darun preforms Buddagaya, which is a back drop. He then follows up with Gandara, doing two lariat punches as the opponent attempts to get up. Continuing the attack with another 360° motion, he preforms Mandura, which has him do a power bomb and a Death Valley bomb, before doing a Tiger Driver. Finally, by charging up-down up and punch, (a hidden command as the game shows question marks) Darun preforms Basura. This has him do an attempted vertical suplex (which the opponent spins out of), a figure-four leglock, bow-and arrow hold, inverted surfboard hold, and octopus hold, breaking the opponent's bones with an audible crack, before finishing the attack with a brainbuster.
Strategy
The Gamble of Darun acts akin to a ground only command grab. When initially executed, the move is as its namesake suggests: a dramatic and climactic gamble by both the player and their opponent. The overall nature of the Meteor Combo can be likened akin to a minigame or even the earliest instance of a quicktime event. The change of background and use of storm effects is a definite psychological shocker to both the player and their foes, and all the while, both must be concentrated to try to continue the Meteor Combo or escape. If the opponent escapes from the G.O.D.'s first input, Darun will take a small amount of damage, which can make this lethal if the player is performing G.O.D. to its namesake at their wit's end. If the opponent escapes but has taken enough damage to reach zero health, they will drop to the floor KO'd. Though the attack is among the most powerful attacks in the Street Fighter series overall both visually and by execution, there is no guarantee of success due to its unpredictable nature, thus living up to its name of being a true gamble of combat.
