Description
Blanka performing Ground Shave Roll against Ling Xiaoyu in Street Fighter X Tekken.
Blanka crouches, then somersaults forward into a rolled-up position on the ground. If the player has not let go of the punch button, Blanka will remain there, rapidly spinning in place, until the punch button is released or until a small time limit elapses. Once one of these occur, or if the player did not hold down the punch button at all, Blanka will immediately roll forward a short distance to hit the opponent multiple times.
In Street Fighter X Tekken, Blanka instead rolls forward; if he makes contact, he backflip kicks the opponent into the air. He then rolls back, charges up and surges forward, electrocuting the opponent as he 'carries' them into a half-circle above where the first hit landed. At the 'peak', he drives them into the ground and bounces off them, beating his chest.
Tactics
Ground Shave Roll, as seen in Super Street Fighter II Turbo Revival.
The attack is difficult to use correctly, due to the precise timing and planning required; one way of ensuring that the second half of the move is not blocked is to execute it at extreme close range, so that the initial somersault will send the foe flying, and the ability to delay the follow-up roll allows Blanka to wait until the opponent is on the way down.
