Hado Shoryuken

The Hado Shoryuken (波動・昇龍拳, Hadō Shōryūken, "Surge Rising Dragon Fist") is a super move used by Ken during the events of Street Fighter II V. The name is later used for one of Ryu's special moves in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

Description

Street Fighter II V

After having been held hostage and bound on a chained torture-table by M. Bison, Ken discovers that he can channel gold-ki in a manner similar to Ryu's blue-ki. While spending some time developing the skill, he also gains psychic visions, sensing Ryu being taken over by the cyber chip. Ken gathers his energy, but it threatens to explode out of his body, forcing him to focus the energy; his thoughts then turn to his previous opponent Vega, and he leaps into the air with a Shoryuken so powerful that it blasts right through the ceiling, emitting an explosive powerful beam of energy that shot into the sky.

Ken later uses this technique again during his fight against the brainwashed Ryu, who is programmed by Bison's scientist to execute the Hadoken super move against Ken. Then, once more against Bison.

During battle, Ken does a variation of this technique where he leaps from the ground to a nearby wall to boost-jumps towards his foe, executing his super move horizontally.

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3

In Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Ryu performs a Shoryuken that is powered up with the blue energy commonly seen in his Hadoken. When it hits, the strike sends a Hadoken that fires directly up, striking the already airborne opponent.[1]

Trivia

  • Ken's super move in Street Fighter II V, looks similar to his Shinryuken in the Marvel vs. Capcom series, the only difference being it is one explosive hit of light-ki energy instead of it being a multi-hit of fire-ki energy.
