Description

Executed by pressing three consecutive Light Kicks (or three consecutive Light Attacks for Modern Control), Mai delivers a quick knee strike to the opponent's midsection. If the first attack connects, Mai follows up with a second knee strike to the opponent's chin. If the second attack connects, Mai extends her knee out and uses the opponent's knee as platform to vault herself up and deliver an airborne enzuigri to their head. As a result, Mai twists while in midair before landing away from the opponent (barring any follow-ups).
Tactics

This move is one of Mai's target combos. The first attack has a 4-frame startup. She can link this move from her overhead during a Drive Rush. Hien Ren Kyaku gives Mai a fast option to punish the opponent, though she needs to be a close range to connect with the first move. The damage output for this target combo is minimal at best due to the scaling of consecutive Light attacks. However, connecting with the third kick puts Mai in an airborne state, allowing her to follow up with an aerial special move for extra damage and corner carry. However, Hien Ren Kyaku is unsafe on block.
