Hillside Plaza is a stage in Street Fighter V. It is the home stage of Laura. It was first seen during a brief battle between Ryu and Chun-Li before the game's release, and fully revealed with Laura's debut trailer.
Description
The stage takes place in Rio de Janeiro. A replica of the famous Escadaria Selaron stairwell can be seen to the right of the stage. There are Carnaval dancers to the left of the stage, dancing along as the battle commences. A fruit stand vendor and a toucan observe the fight to the right of the stage. The toucan flies around and bothers the fruit stand vendor if the characters get knocked down within radius. Instead of the world-famous Christ the Redeemer statue in the background, a different statue resembling the FIFA World Cup Trophy can be seen perched on top of the mountainside, which stands as a reference to the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
The left and right edges of the stage can cause special cinematic knockouts if the final blow is landed at the corners. On the left side, the character tumbles into the tunnel, where the carnival dances scream and chase after them. Should another round begin afterwards, the character will start the round with a carnival headdress on their head, which can be knocked off during the fight.
On the right side, the character slams back-first into a fruit stand, causing a bunch of crates and baskets to fall off. Additionally, a bunch of bananas fall on top of the character 's head. Should another round begin afterwards, the character will start the round with bananas on their head, which can be knocked off during the fight.
