Mai performing Hishou Ryuuenjin in Street Fighter 6.

"A rising, flipping knee strike followed by a flaming kick. Useful for countering an opponent's jumping attacks, or as part of a combo."
Street Fighter 6

Executed by performing a Shoryuken motion and pressing kick (or pressing forward and Special Attack for Modern Control), Mai does a flaming backflip kick that launches the opponent in the air while rising upwards, she then lands on her feet.

Tactics

Functionally akin to a Flash Kick, Hishou Ryuuenjin is a fast, reliable, multi-hitting attack that serves as her primary anti-air attack. It can also be used to end combos. While Hishou Ryuuenjin is Mai's strongest move in terms of damage output, she cannot cancel this attack into any of her Super Arts. Like most moves of its kind, it leaves Mai vulnerable if it whiffs or is blocked on the ground.

The strength of the kick button pressed determines the move's startup, range, and damage output. The Light version has the fastest startup, but the shortest range and inflicts the least damage. Medium Hishou Ryuuenjin has slightly longer range and inflicts more damage. The Heavy version inflicts the most damage and has the longest range. The OD version has the same startup as the Medium version, while inflicting more damage than the Heavy version, making it her go-to reversal option.

Activating her Level 1 Super Art gives Mai five Flame stocks that amplifies her special moves and Super Arts. Hishou Ryuuenjin is one of the moves affected by this power-up. At the cost of one Flame stock, Mai receives a slight damage boost to this attack. Not only Hishou Ryuuenjin adds another hit to the attack, but it also increases the move's range.
