This is a page listing Ibuki's references in general pop culture since her debut in Street Fighter III.

Street Fighter

• In the 1999/2000 released Street Fighter Alpha: The Animation movie, when Sakura is in the hospital, she is seen playing Pocket Fighter on a Wonderswan (the monochrome model) with Ibuki fighting Chun-Li right before Ken interrupts her.

Capcom games

• In the crossover fighting game Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Strider Hiryu has an alternate color based on Ibuki's costume.
• In the 2014 Strider, one of Hiryu's unlockable alternate color costumes (specifically, the one for Fallen Strider Ouga) is also inspired by Ibuki's costume.

Other video games

• Ibuki has an abundant amount of similarities to Ling Xiaoyu from the Tekken series.
  • Both characters debuted in the third main installment (both released in 1997) of their series.
  • Both characters debuted in a time where both franchises were replacing most of the older characters with new ones.
  • Both characters debuted alongside a nature loving female (Elena and Julia Chang).
  • Both characters are best friends with a girl who has goggles for aesthetic purposes only.
  • Both characters have pets friends (Don-chan and Panda).
  • Both characters usually have animal themed aesthetics in their outfits, with Xiaoyu having Panda themed aesthetics while Ibuki has Tanuki aesthetics. Xiaoyu in Tekken 5 had a panda outfit where Ibuki has a scrapped similarly styled Tanuki one.
  • Both characters are one of the 'smaller in stature' fighters and also the speedster archetype.
  • Both characters usually have romance subplots in their character stories with Ibuki looking for "cool boys" and Xiaoyu trying to get the attention of Jin Kazama.
  • Furthermore in their only appearance together in Street Fighter X Tekken, they had many similarities in said game too.
    • Both characters had 900HP, below average.
    • Both characters were teamed with a character who want to take over the world for one reason or another.
    • Both their back throws are very similar in execution.
    • Both characters have attacks where they jump from one side of the screen to the other, stepping on their opponent.
    • Both characters have multi hitting arial attacks.

Comics and Manga

• Tsubaki, from the manga/anime series Soul Eater, has a similar appearance to Ibuki.

Internet

• Ibuki appeared in One Minute Melee, where she fought against Valentine, from the indie fighting game Skullgirls, and won. She later made a post about it in M. Bison vs. God Rugal.
