Description[]
- "Bring a full-power punch down on your opponent with a wide swing. Hold the button to increase its damage."
- —Street Fighter 6
Executed by performing two quarter-circle forward motions and pressing punch, Marisa takes a low stance, then swings her rear arm around for an overhand hook, her fist cracking the floor as it lands. Holding the button not only delays the attack, but also triggers a cinematic animation that shows Marisa decking the opponent square in their face.
If Marisa is attacked while charging Javelin of Marisa, the attack transitions into a strong uppercut, launching the opponent.
Tactics[]
Because it is a Level 1 Super Art, it can be cancelled from her normals. Javelin of Marisa can be used as a low cost reversal option, although Marisa is susceptible to throws during the startup of this attack. Holding the punch button increases the damage output and allows Marisa to absorb an opponent's attack without taking provisional damage. Even against attacks that armor breaks, Marisa's Level 1 Super Art can power through their counterattack and inflict significant damage. Not only it causes a knockdown, but it resets the neutral game. If the charged version is used in the corner, it causes a wall splat; allowing Marisa to perform an OD Phalanx to tack on extra damage.
Trivia[]
- This attack appears to take inspiration from Ralf Jones' Galactica Phantom from SNK's The King of Fighters.
