Description[]

Jetupper

Jet Upper in Super Street Fighter IV.

Executed by performing a "Shoryuken" motion (forward, downward then down-forward) and pressing punch, Dudley throws his left hand straight up and leaps fist-first into the air ("Uppercut!"), much like the Shoryuken, but facing towards the screen, and with opposite knee raised while performing the move, similarly to Sagat's Tiger Uppercut.

The vertical height, horizontal distance and damage dealt are all determined by the punch button used: Light Punch version causes only a slight jump, while the Heavy Punch version rises the entire height of the screen and almost half a screen forward.

The EX Special version introduced in the same game is faster, does more damage, and jumps the same distance and height as the Heavy Punch version.

Tactics[]

The light punch version has very little recovery; if it connects with an opponent (preferably airborne), Dudley can often juggle the opponent with a stronger version (e.g. heavy or EX) before they hit the ground. The Medium and Hard Punch versions can combo if they hit at the apex of the jumping hit.

In Street Fighter × Tekken the light version's juggling properties are more dangerous, as Dudley can do more damage with attacks such as his sweep, leading to 350+ damage. the two hits are capable of providing rather safe Switch Cancels, albeit the user needs good reactions.

Though the attack resembles a Tiger Uppercut, the meterless versions are only throw-invincible, making them mediocre reversals and ironically poor anti-airs as well, though Dudley has far more options to counter airborne opponents. The EX version is fully invincible.
