Description[]

Executed by pressing Medium Punch, followed by Heavy Punch, and ending with Heavy Kick, Ryu punches his opponent twice and follows up with a kick that opponent launches them, causing them to spin in midair. If done with a down and Heavy Punch input, Ryu instead performs an uppercut with his right hand.

Tactics[]

Jodan Sanengeki lets Ryu gets some damage from his Medium Punch, though he can often use his Crouching Heavy Punch to special cancel into stronger enders. Performing the Crouching Heavy Punch variation forces stand, enabling the following Heavy Kick to hit crouching opponents, albeit at the cost of some range for the standard version. Ryu can cancel the last hit into either V-Trigger, or cancel the Crouching Heavy Punch into a special move.

Ryu can also follow the last hit with Thrust Strike on hit, allowing him to build V-Gauge without having to predict his opponent's attacks. This sequence does considerable damage and has good okizeme, and also cancels into either V-Trigger on hit.
