{{Nihongo|'''Judgement'''|ジャッジメント}} (as it is spelled in-game) is a system mechanic introduced in (and so far, exclusive to) the ''[[Street Fighter III series|Street Fighter III]]'' series. It is essentially a tie-breaker format that can happen at the end of any round.

==Description==
If a draw occurs at the end of a round, which happens either if both fighters have equal health after a Time Over or if they both knock each other out, thus resulting in a Double K.O., the word "Judgement" appears on screen, and a cutscene unfolds in which three female civilians, who were supposedly watching the match live, are each holding a picket sign.

Acting as jury members, the female civilians, based on their own personal preferences, decide who they feel should win the match, by turning over the sign, revealing the portrait of the fighter they voted for. Because there are only three jury members, ties are impossible. The fighter with the most votes wins. 

Judgement is considered an unfair tactic, as the logic behind the choices made by the jury members is unknown. Hypotheses according to which the winner is the player with the higher fight grade, or the player who is 1P, or the player who has the most previous match wins, or even that it is always [[Chun-Li]], appear to be unfounded.<ref>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8qtFH3ZnMw</ref>

As a result, Judgement is never considered a victory in tournaments, and if it happens in the deciding round of a match, either it is replayed, or other factors are taken into account for deciding who has won the match; (e.g. the player with the most points is declared the winner, etc).
