- "Be on your guard."
|Street Fighter V||+|
Executed by pressing Heavy Punch and Heavy Kick simultaneously, Karin channels her inner ki to unlock the true potential of the Kanzuki fighting style, giving her access to the Guren Ken attack, along with the over half a dozen different follow-ups and variations.
When this V-Trigger is active, Karin's neutral and pressure game is amplified drastically. After the initial Guren Ken, she can transition immediately into a variety of follow-up attacks to open up her opponent or to keep her opponent on their heels. However, each time Karin uses Guren Ken, she must consume 1/4 of her V-Gauge. This means she can use Guren Ken a limited number of times before her V-Gauge is completely depleted.
However, the huge plethora of follow-up attacks that Karin has allows her to perform fancy combos to maintain offensive pressure, or to create space between her an her opponent. She can use her overhead to surprise crouching opponents, similar to Ressen Ha. Karin also has a low sweep and command grab that can potentially follow-up the overhead. In addition, she also gains another quick set of strikes to inflict more damage and remain close to her opponent. If they happen to block Guren Ken, Karin can perform a back dash follow-up to bait out counterattacks or to reset the neutral game.
Overall, this gives her immense flexibility in controlling the flow of the fight, ensuring that she comes out on top.
