Description[]
Executed by pressing Light Punch and Light Kick, (the throw command) near an opponent. Ken grabs his opponent by the head. As he pulls their head down, he delivers two knee strikes to their face, releasing the opponent after the second strike. Ken then hits his stunned opponent with a kick to the chin, knocking them on their back.
In Street Fighter 6, Ken's forward throw returns with a slight variant in animation. Instead of multiple knee strikes, Ken only delivers one knee strike to the midsection of his opponent. Keeping his grip on his opponent's arm and collar, Ken then steps across them, pivoting on his front foot. He turns his body and bends his knees to throw his opponent over his shoulder, slamming them hard on their back.
Tactics[]
- "Grab your opponent, disrupt their balance with a knee strike, and toss them forward. Throws your opponent without switching places with them."
- —Street Fighter 6
This move is good for pressure and for gaining momentum. While this throw does less damage than his back throw, it is a good way to put his opponent in the corner. After the throw, he can dash forward and continue offensive pressure. Ken can go for a meaty mix-up, a sneaky overhead, or throw his opponent again.
In Street Fighter 6, Ken's forward throw is an important tool in his arsenal. His gameplan is to quickly close the distance and overwhelm them with a combination of strong pokes and normals that gives him frame advantage. Once he has his opponent against the wall, Knee Strikes becomes more of a threat. Because the throw leaves Ken close to his opponent, he can put them in a consistent throw loop after dashing forward.
