List of non-playable characters

Below is a list of non-playable characters (commonly abbreviated as NPC) in the Street Fighter series. These are characters who have made an appearance but are by no means accessible to the player. Their purpose is often for spectacle or storylines. For the list of playable characters, click here.

Main series

Street Fighter

• Geki - A ninja who wields shuriken and a claw and can be found at Mt. Fuji.

• Joe - An American Underground Kickboxer from New York.

• Lee - A Kung Fu expert from China who is fought on the Great Wall. He is Yun and Yang's uncle and a friend of Gen's.

• Mike - An African-American boxer who is fought at Mount Rushmore. He is often mistaken for Balrog despite official comments saying that the two are completely different people.

• Retsu - One of Gouken's friends, he gave his last trial to Ryu and Ken.
• Tournament Staff - Four blonde-haired men in white gi shirts tied together with blackbelts, yellow gi pants and black martial arts shoes. They hold the boards in two of the bonus stages.

Street Fighter II series

• Delta Red - Cammy's squad, including Colonel Keith Wolfman, giant Matthew McCoy, blades expert Lita Luwanda, and computer wizard George Ginzu. Seen in her endings in Street Fighter II and Street Fighter IV.

• Dorai - Chun-Li's father. He disappeared on a mission and was a friend of Gen. Chun-Li is seen visiting his grave marker in the original version of her ending. He appeared in Street Fighter II V, where he is almost killed by Cammy, who had been told by Shadaloo he was a criminal, but he is saved by Fei Long, who fights Cammy and explains to her that she had been fooled.

• Eliza Masters - Ken's girlfriend, who later becomes his spouse and the mother of his child (Mel). Ken's ending in the first Street Fighter Alpha depicts their first encounter. Also shows up in Street Fighter IV: The Ties That Bind, Ken's prologue in Street Fighter IV, and his endings in Street Fighter Alpha 2, X-Men vs. Street Fighter, Street Fighter III: New Generation, Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, Street Fighter IV and Super Street Fighter IV. She is one of the few non-playable characters from the games to reappear in the animated movie.

• Gorbachev - The president of Russia, seen in Zangief's ending alongside three KGB agents.

• Julia and Amy - Guile's wife and daughter, the former being the older sister of Ken's wife Eliza. They appeared in his endings, and urged Guile not to kill M. Bison. In addition, they show up in Guile's ending from Capcom Fighting Evolution and SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos. Amy is the niece of Eliza and is a penpal of Dhalsim's son Datta.

• Kodal (コダル Kodaru) - The elephant Dhalsim rides in his ending. Its parents were killed by Balrog. Kodal also appeared in Dhalsim's ending from SNK vs. Capcom: SvC Chaos and as his ride in Japan Sumo Cup: Yokozuna vs. Street Fighter.

• Max and Scott (マックス & スコット) - The African American and blonde fighter respectively, who appear in the intro fighting in front of a crowd.

• Rick (リック, Rick^?) - Dee Jay's manager.

• Sabu (サブ, Sabu^?) - The domestic dog from Guile's daughter, seen in his ending. It is good friends with Shiro (シロ, Shiro^?), the white dog that appears barking in the Bay Area stage from Final Fight.

• Sally and Datta - Dhalsim's wife and son, seen in his endings. In Street Fighter Alpha 2 and 3, Sally appears in the background of Dhalsim's stage. She is also in the background of Super Street Fighter IV's India stage, though she won't pay any fight much mind unless her husband is participating.

• Samantha (サマンサ, Samansa^?) - Blanka's long lost mother, who's been searching for him for years. First appeared in Blanka's Street Fighter II ending.

• Tatsuyama (龍山), Yasuhanada (安花田), Maru no Umi (丸乃湖) and Nishi-no-Fuji (西の富士) - E. Honda's disciples that appear in his ending. Yasuhanada and Nishi-no-Fuji appear to be based on Akira Yasuda and Akira Nishitani.

Street Fighter Alpha series

• Bob (ボブ, Bob^?) - An agent from Jamaican Music Promotions. He appears in Dee Jay's ending, offering him to produce his songs and make him a star.

• Dr. Senoh - Shadaloo scientist. Appears in some of Bison's endings. Lifted from the Street Fighter II animated movie - in some U.S. comics, this character is credited as being Dr. Haruo Ichihara, leader of Shadaloo's scientific divisions.

• Edi. E - A corrupt policeman who used to be working for Mad Gear. Seemingly still on the force. Appears in some of Cody's victory animations chasing him off the screen.

• El Gado and Holly Wood - Former Mad Gear members who assist Rolento in battle in Alpha 2 and Alpha 3.

• Go Hibiki - Dan's father.

• Goutetsu - Akuma and Gouken's deceased sensei. Seen in Akuma's ending in the original Alpha.

• Yoko Harmageddon - Rainbow Mika's trainer. A heavyset woman carrying a shinai (bamboo training sword) who used to be a famous wrestler herself. Appears in some of her victory animations.

• Jessica - Haggar's daughter and Cody's girlfriend, who was rescued from the Mad Gear gang in Final Fight. She can be seen cuddling Cody in the background of Guy's stage in Alpha 2. In the Street Fighter Zero 3 Secret File brochure, it is revealed that she broke up with Cody after he became a convict and went to Europe to study abroad.

• Kei Chitose - Sakura's friend from school, seen in her ending in Alpha 2.

• Mad Gear Gang - Sodom and Rolento's former organization and the villains from Final Fight. Sodom reunites some of its former members (the Andore family, Poison, Bred, Wong Who, Damnd, Rolento, J) to reform the gang in his ending in the original Alpha. Some other characters (Hugo, Graham Oriber, Abigail, Two P, Edi. E, Holly Wood, Axl) can be seen in the background of Guy's Metro City stage in Alpha 2.

• Mike Haggar - Former CWA wrestler and the Mayor of Metro City, who was instrumental in the downfall of the Mad Gear Gang with Guy and Cody in Final Fight. He appears in Guy's stage in Alpha 2 and Alpha 3, cheering on the fight, as well as in Rolento's ending in Alpha 2. He's also in Hugo's Street Fighter III: Second Impact endings, and in Alex's Capcom Fighting Evolution ending. A giant statue of him holding up "METRO CITY" above his head can be seen in the background of the construction stage in Street Fighter IV and busts through the stage floor after the final KO in the Mad Gear Hideout stage.
• Morrigan Aensland - and many other Capcom characters from various games can be seen in the background in Ken Masters' stage.

• Shibazaki and Ishizaki - Karin's employees, Ishizaki, the butler, can be seen in-game, while the steward, Shibazaki was seen in her ending and in her background (console version only).

• The Dolls - Young women who were captured and brainwashed to serve as M. Bison's Elite Guard, with the exception of Juni and Juli who were playable.

• Tsukushi Kasugano - Sakura's brother who loves playing video games. According to Sakura's bio, she doesn't like playing video games with him because she always loses to him. Appears in Sakura's SFA2 stage, paying more attention to his video game than the fight going on outside.

Street Fighter III series

• Dr. Woo - Appeared in Twelve's ending. He works for Urien and Gill's organization.

• Effie - Necro's girlfriend, she first appeared in his ending in New Generation, and rescued him. In 2nd Impact and 3rd Strike, she appears as a member of the Judgment Girls. She also appeared in some official artwork and also made a cameo appearance in Felicia's Capcom Fighting Evolution ending. In her Shadaloo C.R.I artwork, she wields a chainsaw, suggesting that she fights with it.

• Elena's family and friends - Elena is friends with Narumi (ナルちゃん, Naru-chan^?), a girl she met while studying in Japan. She also has an older brother, a father (the patriarch of her tribe) and a mother. Her brother and father are seen in her Ultra Street Fighter IV prologue and ending.

• Gerald Golby - A wrestler defeated by Ken in his ending.

• Gill's Secret Society Members - Seen in-game and in backgrounds, they are dressed in hoods.

• Hoimei and Shaomei - Two young sisters from Hong Kong who are Yun and Yang's respective girlfriends. Hoimei first appeared in Yun and Yang's ending in New Generation, where she is seen attending her father's vegetable stand, while Shaomei appears in Yang's ending in 2nd Impact. The two reappear in Yang's 3rd Strike ending, and Hoimei is in Yun's Super Street Fighter IV ending. In the later, she appears fuming when they come home from the S.I.N tournament since they left unnoticed.

• Hyper Cannons (ザ・マシンガーンズ, "The Machineguns" in Japan) - A CWA tag team comprised of Biff Slamkovich (Aleksey Zalazof in the Japanese version) and Gunloc (Lucky Colt in Japan) from the Slam Masters series. The team is mentioned in Hugo's ending in 2nd Impact when paired with Ryu (Soul Brothers), Necro (Thunderbolt), or Gill (Ragnarok Winners).

• Judgment Girls - A group of female judges who decide the winner of street fighter after a Double KO or Double Time-Up occurs on the final round of any given match. including Anna, Effie, Fair Libra, Julia, Lilly, Rifa, Toli and Tonfa

• Juliana and David - A pair of CIA agents who are pursuing Q, and are seen in his 3rd Strike ending. Juliana is a raven-haired woman, while David is an African-American man. Their names are most likely references to David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, actors who play the roles of the main characters of the X Files series.

• Kenichi Kakutani and Somsak - A karate instructor and a Muay Thai southpaw, both defeated by Makoto in her ending.

• Li-Fen - A young girl Chun-Li rescues from the Illuminati in her 3rd Strike ending. She also appears in Street Fighter V as a hacker and captive of Shadaloo.

• Makoto's brother, grandfather, and father - Seen in Makoto's ending. Her father Masaru has passed away and only appears in a photo.

• Mel - Ken and Eliza's son and nephew of Julia (Guile's wife), who first appears "sparring" with his father in Ken's ending in New Generation and is also seen in Ken's 3rd Strike ending. Eliza is pregnant with him in Street Fighter IV and he is seen as a newborn baby in Ken's Super Street Fighter IV ending. Mel is three years old in the events of SFV and SFIII. He wishes to follow in his father's footsteps.

• Occhan (おっちゃん, Occhan^? lit. "uncle", as called by Yun)/Oyaji (オヤジ, Oyaji^? lit. "old man", as called by Yang) - An old man who runs a food stand in Hong Kong. He is the father of Hoimei and Shaomei and is also acquainted with Yun and Yang, appearing in their endings. He mocks the abilities of the Lee brothers and is surprised when they jump over his stand.

• Ortho K. Gotch - Dudley's butler, who appears in his 3rd Strike ending and both his prologue and ending in Super Street Fighter IV.
• Remy 's sister - Seen in Remy's ending.

• Sarai Kurosawa and Yuta Homura - Ibuki's fellow ninjas and friends, Sarai seen in Ibuki's ending, as well as both her opening and ending in Super Street Fighter IV. Yuta Homura occasionally appears before fights of Ibuki's in Street Fighter III. They both appeared in Ibuki's comic.

• Slam Masters (スラムスターズ, "Slam Stars" in Japan) - A CWA tag team comprised of Mike Haggar and Black Widow from the Slam Masters series. They are mentioned in Hugo's ending in 2nd Impact when paired with Elena (Beauty and the Beast).

• Tom and Patricia - Tom is Alex's trainer and close friend, who knew Alex's father. According to the Street Fighter III Fanbook, Tom has heard Guile's name in passing, as well as hearsay about Nash in relation to some incidents. Patricia is Tom's teenage daughter and a close friend of Alex. She treats Alex like a big brother, and by 3rd Strike, she calls him "Alec". Tom and Pat also appear in his Capcom Fighting Evolution ending. Patricia later appears in Alex's prologue story in Street Fighter V.

Street Fighter IV series

• Belger - Member of the Mad Gear Gang, can be seen in the background of Mad Gear Hideout stage.

• Bred - A Mad Gear goon. Appears at the end of the car mini-game in if Cody, Rolento , Hugo , Poison or Guy is used, crying "Oh, my car!!" just like he did in Final Fight.

• Candy - Rufus' girlfriend, an attractive, redheaded woman who dresses like a stereotypical cowgirl. In Super Street Fighter IV, she is also shown to be rather airheaded (or simply having a bad sense of direction) not knowing the simplest way to get to the North Pole. When Rufus points out that they just need to head North, she calls him a genius. Nevertheless, she's shown to be cheerful and supportive of Rufus. She was also the one to suggest to Rufus to find and defeat Ken Masters in order to gain the respect he "deserves."

• Chit and her brother - Sagat's adopted orphans.

• E. Honda's father -

• The Cook - El Fuerte's co-worker at the Restaurant.

• Hakan's family - Hakan's family consists of his wife Melike and their seven daughters who all appear in his Super Street Fighter IV ending and in some official artwork.

• Lauren - Crimson Viper's daughter. Appears in The Ties That Bind and her Super Street Fighter IV ending. In one of C. Viper's challenges in Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition, she said that Lauren is waiting, and thus assigns the player to get 30 perfects.

• S.I.N. scientists - Wearing radiation suits, these guys appear in Seth's stage. One of them is also seen taking pictures in the Car Crusher Bonus Stage in Super Street Fighter IV.

• Nancy - Mike Haggar's late wife.

Street Fighter V series

• AS - Shadaloo soldiers fought in the Story Mode.

• Azam - The servant of Rashid and the advisor of a group known as the "Muscle Soul Fighters Club", of which Zangief and Laura are a part of. He is also an old wrestling friend of Zangief.

• Bokori Man - The protagonist from a TV series.

• Byron Taylor, David Crislip and Joe - Byron Taylor is an American Air Force general and Guile's boss, while David Crislip and Joe are USAF members. They appear in the Cinematic Story Mode , Byron Taylor also in the background in the Air Force Base stage.
• Carlos Miyamoto - Carlos can be seen in Lucia's Street Fighter V route arcade ending.
• Daigo Kazama - Akira's older brother. Daigo appears as part of Akira's second V-Trigger, Otoko no Senaka. Much like C'mon, Nadeshiko, Daigo will remain out even if Akira gets hit, making him a powerful pressure option on top of a combo extender and her Critical Art, Kyoso Kiko Kai.

• Don Sauvage - The Ring Announcer in the beginning of Zangief's character story.
• Gan and Edge -- appear in the background of Akira's Street Fighter V stage.

• Geki II - A ninja who has succeeded the original Geki after the latter's retirement.

• Mahesh - An Indian policeman that Dhalsim takes as a yoga disciple. In the Cinematic Story Mode, he is saved from being killed by Necalli thanks to Dhalsim and Ryu's quick intervention.

• Marlowe - Cody's assistant.

• Namupun - A young girl who brought Sagat his meal in his character story. Due to the influence of the Satsui no Hado, Sagat saw her as an evil imp, worrying her, while she was oblivious to the situation. However, he overcame it, calming her and stating that he is okay. It is possible that her name was a transliteration error of Nampeung (น้ำผึ้ง - Honey).

• Kanzuki Family Ninja Army - A large group of ninja working for the Kanzuki Family on a wide range of tasks.

• Peter Zonta - A Brazilian policeman fought by Cammy in the story mode.

• Phantom Bison - A form M. Bison takes after his body is destroyed in the story mode.

• Rashid's friend - A friend of Rashid that was captured by Shadaloo.
• Robert Sullivan - was Luke's father.

• Roxy‎‎, Axl‎‎ and J - Former Mad Gear goons who work with Abigail.

• Tiffany Lords and Hinata Wakaba - The bikini-clad women in the Kanzuki Beach stage. They are both from the Rival Schools series.

• Two P - Another Mad Gear goon. Appears at the end of the mini-game.

• Warrior Prophet - An Aztec warrior-priest from a place called "Ancient Altar". The Warrior Prophet monologues the story of the legend of Necalli. The Warrior Prophet foresees that during the next 'Hour of Battle', Necalli will consume the souls of "The one who agonizes to proceed on his path", "The one who serves the God of Fire" and "The one who fills the world with destruction". During the current 'Hour of Battle', it is revealed that Necalli has come to devour the soul of the Warrior Prophet, who takes solace in knowing that only the strongest warriors witness Necalli. After a short battle, the Warrior Prophet is defeated and consumed by Necalli. However, upon consuming the Warrior Prophet, Necalli's appearance changes from his original form to a much more human looking one. The scars and markings on the Warrior Prophet are transferred onto Necalli's person. In the story mode, the Prophet's predictions prove to be false. It is possible that his defeat and eventual death at Necalli's hands is what made the prophecy not be realized.

• Willa Maiu - Sagat's pet tiger, who accompanies him in his intro and appeared in his Story Mode.

• Yamato Nadeshiko - A black haired female wrestler who is also R. Mika's tag-team partner, she was first seen on the cover of the Capcom Secret File from the arcade version of Alpha 3. Yamato appears in some of R. Mika's special attacks in Street Fighter V. Her name is a phrase which actually means the Japanese concept of the "perfect" woman.

• Yuriko Hibiki - Dan's younger sister.

Street Fighter 6 series

• Albert Jackson - was Kimberly's uncle that appears at the beginning of Kimberly's Arcade Mode

• Alice (アリス, Alice^?) - Training partner of the Avatar in World Tour mode.

• Andy Bogard, Blue Mary, and Joe Higashi - Appears in World Tour mode and background of Pao Pao Cafe.

• Antler - An NPC opponent in World Tour mode.

• Bao Bao Bro - An NPC opponent in World Tour mode.

• Bosch Waraya - Luke's student.

• Carol - An NPC opponent in World Tour mode.

• Chandi - Member of The Crows.

• The Crows - A rival group to the Mad Gear Gang.

• Eliza - Thrasher Damnd's Assistant.

• Eternity - A flamboyant character who enjoys fighting and watching others play Street Fighter.

• Kalima - Leader of the Nayshall Resistance

• Keiko Asano - An NPC opponent in World Tour mode.

• Manny Rose - Sells clothing and gear at the Battle Hub.

• Manon's family - Appear at the beginning of Manon's Arcade Mode.

• Rewancha - Member of the Nayshall resistance.

• Rudra - The leader of The Crows.

• Tracy (トレイシー, Tracy^?) and Ryan (ライアン, Ryan^?) - Alice's older brothers and training partners of the Avatar in World Tour mode. Tracy is the older brother and wears a red jacket, while Ryan is the middle brother and wears green clothes. The names from the three siblings are based on the word "trial".

• Yua Waraya - Bosch's younger sister.

• Other characters in World Tour - In World Tour mode, there are a large number of NPCs, with most of them being able to fight. Usually, the passerby's moves are simplified versions of playable characters, while a few have unique moves.

Spin-off games

Below are the non-playable Street Fighter characters from spin-offs, not included are spin-off characters who would later transfer to the main series (Mel and Yuriko Hibiki).

Street Fighter: The Movie

• Sheng Long - Ryu and Ken's master and Akuma's brother, he is mentioned in their endings. Since he is based on a famous rumor at the time, it is unknown if he's meant to be this continuity's version of Gouken, or another character entirely. He was originally intended to be a playable character, but he could not appear due to time constraints.
• Super Bison - A powered-up version of Bison who appears as a final computer-controlled opponent exclusive to the game's Tag-Team mode.

Street Fighter EX series

• Balba - A wealthy Arabian man and Pullum Purna's father. He's also the creator of Cycloid Gamma. Pullum's Street Fighter V profile states that he's currently working for Shadaloo.
• Cycloids - Though only Cycloid Beta and Cycloid Gamma are playable, a number of other Cycloids appear in the series, such as a pink Cycloid in Street Fighter EX2 Plus and a white one in EX3.
• King Bharat - An underground fighter who kidnapped Cracker Jack's sister in Street Fighter EX2, mentioned in his backstory.
• Sebastian - Blair Dame's butler, mentioned in Jack's ending in EX3.
• Shin-Bison - The secret final boss in Street Fighter EX3.
• Skullolady - A female counterpart to Skullomania who appears in his TV show. She is mentioned in his EX3 ending.
• Zako - A group of unnamed characters that appear during the credits sequence and in Ace's trial missions.

Chun-Li ni makase China

• Reiko and Mary - They are friends of Chun-Li.
• ? - A little girl of rescued by Chun-Li.
• Low-Rank Dolls - Opponents that Chun-Li fights.

Rival Schools series

Rival Schools: United by Fate

• Shizuku Ichimonji (一文字 雫, Ichimonji Shizuku^?) - Batsu Ichimonji's mother, who was kidnapped by Justice High School until she was rescued by her son Batsu with the help of his classmates, Hinata and Kyosuke. She is a clerk from Taiyo High School. Shizuku also appears in Raizo's individual ending. In the game's PlayStation opening, Raizo is shown kidnapping Shizuku, but in the game's story, Kyosuke says he kidnapped Shizuku by Hyo's request. In Nekketsu Seisyun Nikki 2 she runs the game's shop alongside Kiri, exchanging points for cards and other extras.
• Shuichi Sawamura (沢村 修一, Sawamura Shūichi^?, also written as Syuichi) - The captain of Gorin High School's baseball club. In Rival Schools: United by Fate he was injured in a botched kidnapping, this event prompting his younger brother, Shoma Sawamura, to search for the culprit. He appears in Shoma's individual ending being visited by Shoma, Natsu and Roberto. In Project Justice, the beginning of Gorin High's story mentions that he entered Gorin University alongside his friend Nagare.
• Mother (母, Mother^?) - Roberto's mother, seen in his good ending.
• Scout (スカウト, Scout^?) - A scout that invites Roberto to join a soccer team as the forward after he graduates. Seen in Roberto's good ending.
• Tiffany's Father (ティファニーの父, Tiffany's Father^?) - The father of Tiffany Lords, seen in her good ending talking with his secretary in the headquarters of Lords International Inc., Los Angeles.
• Professor (教授, Professor^?) - A wealthy and corrupt man. Kyoko used to work for him in the past, and in her good ending she reveals to him that she exposed his illegal relationship with a medicine manufacturer and prosecuted him. Angry, he swears Kyoko will never work as a medic again.
• Minamoto (源, Minamoto^?) - Unseen character. The janitor from Taiyo High School, a 48 years old man. For some reason students believe that he is actually over 100 years old.
• Kiri (きり, Kiri^?) - An elder that runs the Yamabuki Store (やまぶき商店, Yamabuki Store^?) in front of Gedo High School, a small store that was present in the local since the Taishō era and has a wide selection of items, from cheap snacks to stationery. The favorite item from Gedo High's students is its yakisoba bun. In Nekketsu Seisyun Nikki 2 she runs the game's shop alongside Shizuku. When Kiri appears in Shizuku's place, the prices will have a discount.
• Yu Arise (有瀬 裕, Arise Yu^?) - An important character in Shiritsu Justice Gakuen Drama Album - Nekketsu Shitou Hen. Has a cameo appearance as a card in Nekketsu Seisyun Nikki 2.

Nekketsu Seisyun Nikki 2

• Kohtaro Okita (沖田 光太郎, Okita Kōtarō^?) - Volleyball club advisor.
• Gengorō Sado (佐渡 源五郎, Sado Gengorō^?) - Also known as Kinzan (金山, Kinzan^?), his shikona. Sumo club advisor.
• Sayuri (月嶋 小百合, Sayuri^?) - Drama club president.
• Kozue Yamabuki (山吹 こずえ, Yamabuki Kozue^?) - Art club member.
• Kujo Sizune (九条 静音, Shizune Kujō^?) - Brass music club member.
• Mari Nanase (七瀬 まり, Nanase Mari^?) - Soccer club manager.
• Hyoe Kato (加藤 兵衛, Katō Hyōe^?) - Chemistry club advisor.
