Input: + (or on the ground for anti-air)
Meido Gohado (冥恫豪波動, Dark Painful Great Surge) is Oni's first Ultra Combo in the arcade edition of Super Street Fighter IV.
Description
Executed by performing two quarter-circles forward and pressing either all three punches or all three kicks, the Ultra is a very powerful Hadoken which can be used in multiple ways: if used on the ground with all three punches, the fireball will travel forward horizontally. If the projectile connects on the first hit, the animation features Oni forcing his opponent back with the first projectile then blasting them with another, with the force of the projectile emitting energy from behind the opponent shaping into Oni's kanji character. The animation occurs every time it cleanly hits from point-blank range. If used in the air with all three punches, Oni will fire the projectile diagonally downwards in a fashion similar to the Messatsu Gou Hadou. If used on the ground with all three kicks, Oni will fire the projectile up into the air instead.
As Oni is about to fire off the move, he will say "Kaijin Ni Kisubeshi (灰燼に帰すべし!)/Ashes to Ashes". Oni must be very close in order to trigger its full animation (saying "Jigoku no Mon Ga, Hirakan (地獄の門が、開かん)/The gates of hell await" if successful), and if the Meido Gohado results in a KO after the full animation, he will laugh evilly (ムハハハハハ!, Muhahaha!).[1]
Messatsu Gou Tenha
Messatsu Gou Tenha (滅殺豪天破, Annihilating Great Heaven Break) is the same technique, but its an anti-air type, like Makoto's Fukiage, this attack can only hit opponents exactly on top of Oni, making it very hard to hit with. It has slightly higher damage output than Meido Gohado without the full animation.
Messatsu Gou Zankuu
Messatsu Gou Zankuu (滅殺豪斬空, Annihilating Great Air Slash) is an air version of Meido Gohado. Oni shoots it downwards like the Zankuu Hadouken, but with both hands instead of one.
Asura's Wrath
In the DLC lost episode of Asura's Wrath "The Strongest vs. The Angriest", Oni performs it similarly how it was done in Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition. On the other hand, Asura can redirect the Meido Gohado; should the latter counter it, the attack is bounced back at Oni.
Notably, despite their apparent power, all of Oni's Super and Ultra Combos can be countered.
