The Meteor Strike (メテオストライク Meteo Sutoraiku?) is one of Gill's Super Arts in the Street Fighter III series, introduced in Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact. Like all of Gill's Super Arts, it is always available to him, and is not selectable on the character select screen. In Street Fighter V, it is his first V-Skill when his first V-Trigger is selected. However, as a boss character in Street Fighter 3 arcade ladder, it is his third and hidden Critical Art.

Input
Street Fighter III series Quarter circle forwardQuarter circle forward + Punch
Street Fighter V Medium Punch + Medium Kick

Description

Executed by performing two quarter-circle forward motions and pressing punch, Gill raises his hand in a summoning motion, and a rain of Cryokinesis and Pyrokinesis projectiles fall from the sky like a meteor shower across the whole screen. The attack can only be avoided if you manage to get behind him, which is difficult, but possible. Though it can be parried, this is risky for the opponent to attempt, since there is no set pattern for the falling projectiles.[1] This also means that it's difficult to tell how much damage it will inflict, as the number of meteors that hit the opponent is unpredictable. However, it can inflict up to around 70% damage. While Gill is still vulnerable during the entire attack, hitting him will be a difficult task while the meteors are still falling. However hitting him will cause the attack to cease.

In Street Fighter V, his Super Art became his V-Skill when his Primal Fire V-Trigger is activated. Gill summons a single Pyrokinesis projectile like a meteor shower. The trajectory of the projectile is determined by the directional input. Pressing back has a the meteor traveling in a steeper angle, while pressing forward causes the projectile to fall in a shallow angle. On hit, it puts the opponent in a fiery state. If the next hit on the opponent is an Anti-Type ice attack, it triggers a Retribution hit.

While as an arcade boss character in the SFIII ladder, it is his third and hidden Critical Art. As an arcade boss character and both of his current V-Triggers are permanently activated, the execution of the move is now shortened. The Cryokinesis projectile is replaced by Divine Comet V-Skill during execution.
