Description[]
- "Grab an opponent by the leg to send them tumbling to the ground, and punch them from above. Throws your opponent without switching places with them."
- —Street Fighter 6
Executed by pressing Light Punch and Light Kick, (or the Light Attack and Medium Attack for Modern Control) near an opponent. After grabbing the opponent by the wrist, Marisa performs a single leg takedown; grabbing them by the leg to trip them up onto their back. Once the opponent is supine, Marisa delivers a powerful punch to their head with her front arm. She finishes the attack by rolling her opponent over onto their front before stepping back slightly.
Tactics[]
Marisa's throws are extremely useful to open up the opponents who are constantly blocking. While it does significantly less damage compared to her command grab, it has a faster startup and recovery. This means that Marisa can still counter her opponent if they jump to avoid her grabs, giving her time to attack. While her heavy build makes her moves slower than most of the cast, Marisa excels in maintaining pressure on her opponent using a plethora of tools in her arsenal. From armored attacks to her throws, Marisa can keep her opponent on the defensive while she mounts her offense.
This move is very effective in the corner. While she may not close enough to put the opponent in a throw loop, she is close enough to perform a shimmy to in attempt to open them up. She can also perform a Drive Rush and go for a strike-throw mix-up. Only when using a Drive Rush can she have enough frames to put the opponent in a throw loop.
Trivia[]
- This throw sees Marisa use a common wrestling takedown simply known as Single Leg Takedown. Attacking a grounded opponent after such a takedown is known as Ground and Pound.
