"To decide who will enter the Team Battle Royal as Number One, the "Heat Up Scramble" is held! Which team will be titled the strongest?"
Muscle Bomber Duo: Ultimate Team Battle (マッスルボマーデュオ アルティメット・チーム・バトル, Massuru Bomā Duo: Arutimetto Chīmu Batoru) is a updated version of Saturday Night Slam Masters that was released for arcades in 1993 in Japan, Europe and Asia. It is notable for being the only game in the Slam Masters trilogy to retain the "Muscle Bomber" branding used in Japan for its foreign releases, although the subtitle was changed from Heat Up Warriors to Ultimate Team Battle.
Gameplay
Muscle Bomber Duo removes the 1-on-1 Single Match mode of the original Muscle Bomber, retaining only the 2-on-2 Team Battle Royale mode. Multiple players can now choose to play as the same wrestler and each character now has two additional special moves: a dual side attack and a vacuum move. In addition, the pin button now serves double duty as a grapple button, replacing the automatic grabs from the previous game.
Although the players can choose and pick their team as they please, there are five "official" combinations that the game will recognize and give a name to, which are all shown during the attract mode. The official tag teams are as follows:
- Hyper Cannons (Biff Slamkovich and Gunloc)
- Exotic Warriors (King Rasta Mon and The Great Oni)
- The Deadly Brothers (Titanic Tim and El Stingray)
- Knuckle Busters (Mike Haggar and Alexander the Grater)
- Silent Assassins (The Scorpion and Jumbo Flapjack)
