Description[]

NightshadePulse

Executed by performing a quarter-circle back motion and pressing Light Punch (or pressing back and Special Attack for Modern Control, A.K.I. brings hand flat in front of her and blows out a big bubble of poison, which travels towards her opponent in a straight line. Hitting them with this attack puts the opponent in a poisoned state.. The Overdrive version has A.K.I. placing two hands under her chin to blow a faster bubble that hits twice on impact.

By pressing forward and any punch button (or pressing forward and any button for Modern Control) while the bubble is moving, A.K.I. can perform the Nightshade Chaser (紫煙追 Shientsui?, Purple Smoke Chaser). She extends one of her claws to pop the bubble.

Tactics[]

NightshadeChaser
"Extends talons forward to burst the poisonous Nightshade Pulse bubble in transit. The burst widens the bubble's attack range, and the talons themselves can poison an opponent if they come into contact with them."
Street Fighter 6

Unlike F.A.N.G's Nishodoku, this does not poison regardless if the attack is blocked. The slow-moving projectile allows A.K.I. to approach the opponent safely while positioned behind the bubble. She can also cancel into OD Snake Step to quickly approach the opponent and maintain pressure as the projectile approaches behind. This move can be cancelled from her Hun Dun target combo to inflict minimal damage while putting the opponent in a poisoned state. The OD version projectiles not only travels faster, but can neutralize the opponent's fireballs unless they counter with their own OD projectile.

Her Nightshade Chaser follow-up has A.K.I. performing a whip-like attack to detonate the bubble herself. While the chain itself is unsafe, causing the bubble to explode in the middle of the screen changes the move's properties, making it safer on block. Triggering a Toxic Blossom with Nightshade Chaser puts the opponent in a juggle state, allowing A.K.I. to perform another special move for additional damage.
