Onibi (鬼火 Ogre Fire?) is Oro's first V-Skill, introduced in Street Fighter V.

Description[]
Executed by pressing Medium Punch and Medium Kick simultaneously, Oro taps his forehead and swings his arm downward twice to generate a large, green orb of ki from his fingertips that bounces toward the opponent.
Tactics[]
This move takes a total of 60 frames to perform, which is longer than most V-Skills. Additionally, until Oro releases the orb, he is vulnerable in a Counter Hit state. However, this projectile has three different trajectories, depending one which direction is pressed. If no directional inputs are used, the orb bounces from Oro's feet to as high as his opponent's head. Pressing back makes the projectile bounce low toward the ground. If down is pressed, then the orb rises high in the air before descending. The orb explodes when it hits the opponent or makes contact with the ground a second time. If it makes contact with the opponent, it hits them three times before disappearing.
Oro can either throw this move out in the neutral game or he can perform his first V-Skill after hitting his opponent with his Tsurane Uchiage target combo. Because it knocks them back and creates separation, Oro can safely put the projectile on the screen before his opponent recovers. He is also safe performing Onibi after hitting his opponent with Heavy Tsuranekeashi. Even after putting the orb out, Oro can perform an EX Nichirin Sho to make the opponent defend against two slow-moving orbs.
Having the orb on the screen makes Oro a potent threat in the neutral game. He can use it as pseudo-wall to hide behind or while approaching his opponent. If he catches them on their heels, Oro can sneak in a throw since his opponent is focused solely on the projectile. Additionally, Oro can put his opponent in a potential mix-up situation. If timed correctly, Oro can double jump over his opponent or use Jinchu Watari to leap over them as the orb closes the distance. This forces them to guess which direction to block; which can lead to some damaging combos should they guess incorrectly. Oro can also use the projectile to make most of his special moves safe, even on block. For example, he can end block strings with Tsuranekeashi while the projectile approaches the opponent. Despite being -10 on block, the opponent is also forced to respect the orb and hold off their counterattack.
Oro's second V-Skill gives him added mobility that gives him a mid-range tool and allows him to extend juggle combos. However, Onibi gives him a variety of setups and mix-ups. Despite having a lengthy startup, Oro becomes more of a threat in the neutral game once the projectile enters the screen. While his opponent is focused on defending or avoiding the orb, Oro has the freedom to advance in on them and force them to guess his next what his next offensive maneuver is.
Etymology[]
Onibi translates to "ogre fire", which refers to a large range of phosphorescent otherworldly wisp-like entities. In Japanese folklore, onibi are said to be spirits formed from the corpses of humans and animals that have various types. In correspondence with Yagyou Dama, while the latter can refer to any kind of transcended being able to manifest into the world as a wandering spirit of power, onibi is often manifested by supernatural and unusual phenomena, and as its namesake implies, aggressively from demons. In western folklore, the closest parallel to onibi would be the will o' wisp.

Trivia[]
- Onibi is a modified version of Oro's second Super Art Yagyou Dama, with all three trajectories replicated accordingly.
- Onibi and Daishinsenriki represent both versions of Yagyou Dama. When combined with Tengu Stone and Manrikitan, all six of Oro's Super Arts are represented in Street Fighter V.
