Executed by pressing Heavy Punch and Heavy Kick simultaneously, Gill raises his right arm and engulfs it with small bursts of flame. While this V-Trigger is active, Gill's fire-based special attacks are enhanced, causing them to set the opponent in a burning state without having to spend any bar on their EX versions. Gull also gains access to three additional flaming attacks:
- Burn Storm: By pressing Heavy Punch and Heavy Kick, Gill performs an upward swipe with his right arm to summon a burning tempest that can be cancelled from most of Gill’s normal attacks.
- Volcanic Storm: By pressing Heavy Punch and Heavy Kick simultaneously after performing Burn Storm, Gill follows-up with a downward swipe with his right arm. The burning tempest he previously created transforms into a fiery lance that shoots at a downward angle toward the opponent. Upon hitting the ground, the flame explodes to further damage his opponent. By pressing down, down-left, or down-right, Gill can change the trajectory of the projectile. The Projectile Crush property of this move is also extremely potent, allowing it to obliterate Any Projectile no matter their hit count and even being able to destroy reflectors.
- Flame Javelin: By pressing down, down-left, or down-right, with Heavy Punch and Heavy Kick, Gill shoots a fiery spear at a downward angle. The trajectory can be adjusted, depending on which direction is pressed. Upon making contact with the ground, the lance causes an explosion as an additional part of the attack.
Selecting this V-Trigger amplifies all of Gill's fire-based attacks, such as his Pyrokinesis and Pyro Cyber Lariat. While his regular Pyrokinesis is -6 on block, it becomes -4 on block while Primal Fire is active. Even though the damage output remains the same, hitting the opponent with any fire-based attacks puts them in a burning state. During this debuffed state, the opponent takes small amounts of gray health damage overtime. In addition, putting the opponent in a fiery state can set up Gill for a Retribution hit. If he hits his opponent with an ice attack while they are is in a burning state, then the aforementioned move launches the higher, which can lead to some high-damaging juggle combos.
While his first V-Trigger is active, Gill can use several new fire attacks that also puts his opponent in a burning state on hit. Burn Storm can be linked from Gill's normals, unique attacks and special moves. Out of all of the attacks that are exclusive to this V-Trigger, this one is the least safe. It is -9 on block. Unless properly spaced, it is possible for his opponent to interrupt the attack before Gill can perform Volcanic Storm. However, hitting the opponent with Burn Storm launches them in the air. Gill can then easily hit-confirm into Volcanic Storm for extra damage and okizeme as they are recovering.
From a distance, Gill can use Flame Javelin, which is essentially Volcanic Storm follow-up after Burn Storm. Where he throws the lance depends on which direction is pressed. Down-left hits about 1/4 of the screen. Pressing down sends the spear about halfscreen length. Pressing down-right shoots the lance at about 3/4 of the screen. However, with the explosion after contact with the ground, it increases the range of the move. The explosion also gives Gill tremendous frame advantage. He can dash forward safely while his opponent is dealing with the incoming projectile and the explosion follow-up afterward.
