Psycho Kanonen is one of Falke's special attacks, introduced in Street Fighter V.

EX Psycho Kugel | (after Psycho Kugel or Psycho Kanonen) |
Description[]
Executed by holding the any punch button, Falke charges up her hand with Psycho Power. By pressing down and releasing the selected punch button, she drops to a prone position and releases the negative energy through her staff like a sniper rifle blast that can hit her opponent fullscreen. By pressing two punch buttons after hitting the opponent with Psycho Kanonen (or Psycho Kugel), Falke releases a more powerful blast of negative energy at the opponent's feet that travels fast across the screen.
When using her first V-Trigger, pressing down, plus Heavy Punch and Heavy Kick simultaneously, allows Falke to perform Psycho Panzer, which a powered up version of Psycho Kanonen that deals more damage.
Tactics[]
Psycho Kanonen is primarily used to end combos. While it inflicts the same amount of damage as Psycho Kugel, it deals more stun. The projectile also travels across the screen much faster than other characters' fireballs. It can be cancelled from most of her normals. Psycho Kanonen can cancelled into V-Trigger, as well as her Critical Art.
This move is not only one of Falke's best zoning tools, but it is also effective against other zoning characters. Unlike Psycho Kugel and Psycho Feder, this attack travels fullscreen. The main drawback is that it has a 24-frame startup, which makes it easy for her opponent to telegraph. Additionally, despite it's appearance, the attack does not have a low profile, meaning that her opponent doesn't have to be crouching in order to block it. However, Falke can use Psycho Kanonen against other characters who use projectiles. When she drops to the ground to perform this attack, other fireballs can fly above her while she fires back at her opponent.
Compared to Psycho Kugel, this attack is less safe on block. Even though it is -3 on block, Falke can be punished if she is not properly spaced. For example, Zangief can punish this move from point-blank range with his Critical Art. While it does not result in a knockdown, it pushes her opponent back and makes it easier to continue zoning them out with more of her projectiles and mid-range normals.
In the latest patch of Street Fighter V, Falke gains an amplified version of Psycho Kanonen. It can be used after hitting the opponent with the regular version of either Psycho Kanonen or Psycho Kugel. It inflicts more damage than the regular version and results in a knockdown. EX Psycho Kugel enhances Falke's zoning abilities. She gains an additional move that can travel extremely fast and across the screen. At a cost of one bar of meter, Falke can surprise the opponent with EX Psycho Kugel and knock them back to keep them at a distance. However, this move is -6 on block; making it less safe than the regular version.
By cancelling Psycho Kanonen into her first V-Trigger, she not only makes this move safer on block, but also gets a decent combo extender on hit. If this attack hits her opponent while cancelling into Staerken, she can dash forward and extend combos with Standing Medium Punch or Standing Medium Kick for greater damage. If she has her second V-Trigger active, Falke can cancel Psycho Kanonen into Psycho Klinge to result in more damaging combos.
This move can be performed, regardless of the punch button is held and released. The player can also alternate punch button(s) as long one punch button is held. However, by charging up for this attack, Falke has to sacrifice one of her options.
- Light Punch: By holding Light Punch, Falke cannot perform any of her throws or tech any of her opponent's throws. She also loses one of her safest normals.
- Medium Punch: By holding Medium Punch, Falke cannot perform her V-Skill. She also loses one of her stronger and safer normals that can link into her other normals or special attacks.
- Heavy Punch: By holding Heavy Punch, Falke cannot activate or perform her V-Trigger. She also loses one of her long-range normals, including her Psycho Spitze. Falke also loses access to one of her more reliable anti-air attacks with Crouching Heavy Punch.
