"A forward-moving attack that allows you to act before an opponent even if blocked."
Street Fighter 6

The Qiu Niu (囚牛 Japanese: Shūgyū; Pinyin: Qiú niú?, Captive Ox) is one of A.K.I.'s unique attacks, introduced in Street Fighter 6.

Input
Classic Arcade Stick Right+Arcade-Button-HKick
Modern Arcade Stick Right+Modern H

Description[]

Executed by pressing forward and Heavy Kick (or pressing forward and Heavy Attack for Modern Control), A.K.I. performs a short hop forward and delivers a double lift kick while slightly hunched up.

Tactics[]

QiuNiu

This double-hitting normal gives A.K.I. a safe approach toward the opponent. While it has a 14-frame startup, it allows A.K.I. to retain frame advantage. Qiu Niu is +2 on block, which means A.K.I. can still attack while the opponent is still recovering. If used from a Drive Rush, she can receive better frame advantage. She is also in the air while performing both kicks, making it useful to punish low pokes. A.K.I. can also use this move while pressuring the opponent with Nightshade Pulse, forcing the opponent to respect both the projectile and her advancing normal.

Trivia[]

  • Qiú niú (囚牛) is one of the nine sons of the Dragon King. The qiú niú is a dragon that likes music, and are used to adorn musical instruments.
  • Dead or Alive's Christie has a similar double kick in her moveset.
