"Hop forward with a powerful front kick. Useful as a surprise attack that allows you to close the distance with your opponent, and can also be used to tack on additional hits in combos."
Street Fighter 6

The Quadriga (クアドリガ Kuadoriga?) is one of Marisa's special attacks, introduced in Street Fighter 6.

Input
Street Fighter 6 Arcade Stick QCF+Arcade Button Kick

Description[]

Quadriga

Executed by performing a quarter-circle forward motion and pressing kick, Marisa leaps forward for a toe kick to her opponent's middle, knocking them back.

Tactics[]

This move is can be used as a long-range, advancing poke or as a way to end combos. Marisa takes a big step to approach the opponent before delivering her attack, making it a good way to surprise the opponent. Each version results in a knockdown. It can be cancelled from most of her normals or unique attacks, as well as be cancelled into her Level 3 Super Art.

The strength of the kick button pressed determines the move's startup, damage output, range, and recovery. The Light version inflicts the least amount of damage and is the least safe on block, putting Marisa at -6. It also has the shortest range, despite her travelling fullscreen. However, it has the fastest startup, making it a primary tool to end combos. Medium Quadriga has a slightly longer startup, but travels further and deals more damage. It also leaves Marisa -4 on block, making it difficult for the opponent to punish if properly spaced. The Heavy version has the slowest startup, giving a small opportunity for the opponent to intercept. However, it not only inflicts the most damage, but allows Marisa to travel almost 3/4 of the screen. Even if the opponent blocks the attack, the pushback of this move makes Marisa safe on block. The Overdrive version causes a wall splat, knocking them fullscreen distance and giving Marisa an opportunity to perform an optimal combo in the corner.

Trivia[]

  • Quadriga in Latin both refers to an ancient type of chariot drawn by a team of four horses, and to the four horse team itself.
  • The attack is very similar to the "This is Sparta!" kick used by Leonidas in the film 300. Given that Marisa is a proud Spartan descendant, the similarity was likely intentional.
  • Quadriga also bear similarities to Urien & Gill's Quarrel Kick and Pyro Quarrel Kick respectively.
