Description[]
Executed by performing a half-circle backward motion and pressing punch, R. Mika grabs the opponent by the legs and pivots, spinning around to lift the opponent off of the ground. She releases the opponent on the other side, tossing them forward onto the ground after spinning around three times.
Performing the EX version of this move flies the opponent into the wall. As they bounce off of the wall,Yamato Nadeshiko jumps in from behind. She wraps one arm around the back of the opponent's neck and drops to a seated position, smashing their face into the ground.
Tactics[]
Rainbow Typhoon is an incredibly powerful command throw, dealing as much damage and stun as the EX version of her other command throw, Brimstone, with more range on average as well. However, all of her command throws have a lot of recovery frames, leaving R. Mika defenseless if she whiffs. The strength of the punch button determines the range and damage inflicted. The Light version does the least amount of damage, but has longer range, while the Heavy version has the shortest range, but inflicts the most damage. The EX version has the longest range and inflicts 240 damage and 250 stun, making it one of the most damaging command grabs in the game for a single bar.
As a command grab, this move cannot be blocked. It is great for keeping the opponent guessing, as well as utilizing tick throws. With its fast five-frame startup, she can use this move to break their defenses and deal a large chunk of damage. R. Mika can condition her opponent to constantly block her offensive pressure, and surprise them with her command throws. However, Rainbow Typhoon's main weakness is that it throws the opponent to the other side of the screen, ending R. Mika's momentum and resetting them both to neutral. While this makes it difficult to use against a cornered opponent, it can be a surprise option that puts her opponent on the defensive should R. Mika be the one in the corner. Using this move to take regain control of position can be the key to initiate pressure. As such, Rainbow Typhoon and Brimstone serve different purposes in spite of their identical startup and recovery, with Brimstone being used to maintain R. Mika's offense as one of many tools, and Rainbow Typhoon being used to end R. Mika's momentum with a devastating finisher.
In addition, this move can be paired with R. Mika's [Mic Performance|[V-Skill]], which increases the damage of all of her normal throws and command throws. Depending on the level of intensity R. Mika uses her Mic Performance, she can increase the damage of this command grab from 180-200 to as high as 1680-1800. While achieving the max level of R. Mika's V-Skill to obtain the highest damage output seems unlikely, she can use Mic Performance to make her command throws even scarier.

Trivia[]
- This move is arguably based on a popular professional wrestling move called the Giant Swing.
- When the EX version is performed, Yamato Nadeshiko performs a Bulldog.
- This attack continues with the theme of Mika falling on her buttocks after a special attack.
- Furthermore if Mika scores a KO with this attack, the attack is timed that the "KO" message appears on screen the moment Mika falls into a seated position on the floor (non EX version).
