Description[]

Ravina

JP putting Cammy in an armlock during Ravina.

"Grab your opponent by the arm, disrupt their balance, and stab them with your staff. Throws your opponent without switching places with them."
—Description, Street Fighter 6

Executed by pressing Light Punch and Light Kick, (or the Light Attack and Medium Attack for Modern Control) near an opponent. After grabbing them by the wrist, JP hooks his wrist underneath his opponent's elbow and pulls them toward him to get them off-balance. As he slides his arm out of his opponent's limb, JP then bashes the bottom of his cane into their chest, knocking them across the screen.

Tactics[]

JP's throws are essential to his gameplan. It knocks the opponent about halfscreen distance, allowing him to continue zoning with his projectiles and setups. Additionally, JP can also begin combos with his Ravina when paired with Departure or his Level 2 Super Art. JP can also sneak in a throw after using Amnesia to parry on of his opponent's attack as they are forced to respect the detonation and his offensive pressure. This move is also very effective in the corner. JP is close enough to put the opponent in a throw loop without having to walk or dash forward; though proper timing is required.

Trivia[]

Ravina is Portuguese for "ravine", it can also mean "gorge" or "gully" as well.
