Description[]
- "Continue to hold forward and Rashid will break out into a sprint. Rashid will stop after covering a certain distance or if you release the input."
- —Street Fighter 6
Executed by pressing forward twice, while holding the second forward motion, Rashid runs toward his opponent, extending his dash. While he's running, he can transition into either Spinning Mixer or Eagle Spike in Street Fighter V.
In Street Fighter 6, these follow-ups would be changed into:
- Backup (バックアップ Bakkuappu?): By pressing forward and punch during the run, Rashid slides low and chops his opponent's legs twice, travelling to the opposite side of the screen.
- Tempest Moon (テンペスト・ムーン Tenpesuto Mūn?): By pressing forward and kick during the run, Rashid jumps forward for a double overhead kick.
Tactics[]
- "A low attack that can be performed during Run. Moves you behind the opponent when it hits."
- —Street Fighter 6
Rashid is one of a few characters who maintain dashing toward the opponent. Not only this allows him to quickly and consistently approach the opponent, but it also gives Rashid a pair of follow-ups to keep the opponent guessing. Backup is a low sliding attack that allows Rashid to zip underneath projectiles and punish the opponent at the same time. This move also results in a side-switch, making it useful for putting the opponent back in the corner. While most slides are unsafe on block, this move can be difficult to punish if Rashid hits the opponent toward the tail end of the attack.
- "An attack that can be performed during Run. This multi-hitting attack lets you expand your mix-up game."
- —Street Fighter 6
He also has a kick follow-up that can be used as a solid tool to maintain offensive pressure. Rashid is airborne during the startup of Tempest Moon, making it useful against an opponent's throw techs or low attacks. If Rashid scores a Punish Counter with this move, he can then link into Standing Medium Punch to continue the combo. Similar to his Backup, this move can be difficult to punish if properly spaced.
