Description

RussianSuplex

Zangief slamming Cammy to the ground using Russian Suplex.

"Grab an opponent and slam them into the ground with two powerful suplexes. This move will only activate when close to an opponent. When far away, Siberian Express will activate instead."
Street Fighter 6

Executed by performing a full-circle motion in either direction and pressing kick, Zangief runs with his arms extended, attempting to grab the opponent. On connection, Zangief lifts the opponent up before suplexing them onto their head with such force that the opponent bounces onto their back when they hit the ground. In Street Fighter 6, the input for this move is changed to performing a half-circle motion and pressing kick (or pressing back and Special Attack for Modern Control). If Zangief is far enough from his opponent, then this move becomes the Siberian Express.

Tactics

In addition to his Spinning Piledriver, Zangief has another command grab to break open an opponent's defense and inflict massive damage. While the startup for this move is slower than Spinning Piledriver, Zangief gain more meter and switches sides with the opponent. After hitting the opponent with a Russian Suplex, Zangief can perform a Drive Rush to maintain offensive pressure; forcing the opponent guess either another command grab or perform an attack to keep them on their heels.
